Waiting for Hachiko

Haven't posted in the EE section in a ling time, thought I would post my latest knife buy.

Saw this knife in A local sporting goods store but ordered it online from Blade HQ a little cheaper. It comes with 2 other interchangeable blades, a sawtooth and gut hook. I doubt I will ever use the other blades.

I realize this is a lower end knife to many of you, but to me it is a solid , good handling knife, just a little heavy. This is one of the few knives I wish they had offered a pocket clip for.

My price delivered was $49.

About half my collection are knives under 50 bucks. 80 percent or more of what i carry daily is 50 bucks or less. I am waiting on 4 cold steel remakes of their voyager. For 25 bucks each. Looks like a good knife.

Check out classic edge cutlery in midalotian. He is the guy at all the gun shows. He usually is just below most of the non blow out sale places on line.

While I greatly admire works of art and metallurgy pertaining to knives, my wallet hold me captive and also my belief that losing a knife happens.

To put $350 in a Bali Song, and have it slip out of your pocket, is a thing hard for me to reckon with.

Of course Boker makes the higher end Optima knives (Germany), where as my blade is made in China. But I am happy with it, so guess in my little world , that is the most important aspect.

You never know, that $50 knife could become your "Hatchet".

I have no problem with the price you paid for it. I like the look of the handle, it looks like gold in the pic or maybe brass.

What would trouble me is having the two extra blades. I would just buy separate handles for them.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

It is green G10 material, the picture was taken with my IPad, the knives originally came with black G10, and are also made with orange G10 handles and one extra blade at a cheaper price. The green color appealed to me more than the orange.

Not where I purchased the knife, but a much better picture than mine.
