Need a new truck battery
I appreciate everyone's input and advice, I started off trying to buy a battery at Walmart but after waiting for someone to show up at the counter I walked off and drove over to Autozone and bought a battery there.

At WalMart you often have to have someone paged to get help in the Automotive Department. I usually just figure out what battery I need from their website or the literature near the batteries, then load the proper one in my cart and pay for it like I'd pay for anything else there.

The receipt gives purchase and warranty details.

Apparently I do to. My 2 year old battery declined to start my truck today.

At this particular Walmart they usually have someone at the counter. I waited a few minutes, walked off to the bathroom, returned and still no one at the counter so I left. I did see a bunch of batteries on the shelves but I didn't see a battery guide to tell me what battery fit my truck.

I just replaced the battery in my Tacoma yesterday, Walmart everstart battery.

I bought two AGM batteries from WalMart for my truck, not because I need an AGM battery, but because it was a 48 month full replacement, not prorated, warranty. The one battery lasted 40 months and was replaced for free. The other one was still good.

Every vehicle, RV, and boat battery I bought in the last 3-4 years has come from Sam’s.
I’m happy with them so far.

Timely thread.

I'm about to buy a new battery for my V-10 powered Excursion. Was all set to buy the standard lead acid group 65 offering from Costco @ $124, but now I'm wondering if I should splurge the extra $56 and go with the AGM option. Both Costco and Walmart sell a group 65 AGM unit for the same price, but Walmart's warranty is a year longer and not pro-rated.
AGM is rated slightly lower in CCA - 750 vs 850 for the conventional lead acid.

Can somebody school me on the advantages of upgrading to AGM - if there are any?

Here is what Interstate post regarding AGM advantages.

Although there are other stated reasons, I put AGM batteries in my trucks and jeeps as I do modest off-roading and hunting and believe that they handle jostles and jolts better.
