I have a cypress table for my Green Egg. There are wheels on two legs and the other two sit directly on the patio. The legs that sit on the ground have some black streaks starting to work up from the ground which I believe are from moisture wicking the leg. I'd like to put some type of cap on the bottom of the legs but my web searches have been unsuccessful, probably because they are too generic. The legs are 4 x 4.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I looked at those but I don't think they will hold since they are peaked and the flat area is pretty small. The whole rig weighs about 400 pounds.

I stopped upward seepage on a set of wooden legs by putting appropriate sized asphalt shingle under the leg as a non permeable barrier. It's worked fine for a couple years.

Another option - I've used lag bolts in the bottom and also hockey pucks in my garage to raise workbench legs off the floor.

Simpson Strong Tie makes a variety of standoff post bases. Home Depot sells Simpson products.

Maybe drill/countersink some stainless screws is a material like This. Another option is plastic cutting board from Wal-Mart, about $7. Obviously you would cut some square pucks from the material.

My new egg table has been sitting in the garage for months while I tried to solve this problem. Your post gives me renewed interest in completing the project.
