I would like to say I love it but I do feel sorry for the people losing their jobs.

I think part of the solution here is a cultural one. We need to stop this idea of prescribed tipping. If a server does an impeccable job, then perhaps some gratuity is in order; if one merely does one's job, then one did exactly that. No more no less.

I also don't buy the argument that minimum wage is intended to be a living wage for a family. I can see situations where it has to be, but arguably that should be the exception rather than the rule. For a much longer time than I should have, I lived off of about $2 more than minimum wage; I barely made ends meet due to my own bad decisions and debt. Debt-free, I would have been fine. Now, I wouldn't have had a lot of discretionary funds, but I would have been okay.

Been there, done that. Worked fine.

I wonder what the politicians are thinking to pass such laws when there is ample evidence they do more harm than good, they hurt the very people they pretend to help.

Oh no. The answer is to pass a "convenience tax" for those companies who use tablets instead of employees. There are no problems that the left can create that can't be solved by taxing those who adapt from the lunacy.
