I always hate it when someone that young passes away. But it's always a punch in the gut when I read it was brain cancer. Having seen my father go through glioblastoma I would not wish brain cancer on my worst enemy.

May she now be resting in peace.

She came to the SIG shoot years ago at the Yellow River Gun club. She had an SKS that she had just bought.

I showed her how to launch the recoil spring when I took the rear cover off. She was nonplussed as I with red faced put it back together.

She enjoyed shooting it after that though.

It was a pleasure to meet her. RIP.

Terrible news, sorry to hear she passed, believe I met her at one of the local shoots.
The first time that I met her was at least ten years ago, probably more, when ArtieS hosted a group to shoot at a local farm.

The purpose of that get-together was for everybody to bring a bunch of handguns so that Mrs. Horse could try a bunch and decide what she wanted.

There were probably a couple dozen SIGforum members there, and well over a hundred firearms for Mrs. Horse to look at and try.

This is when I first met her as well. Sorry to hear this.

May she rest in peace, and may her family and friends be comforted.

I didn't meet her but do well remember her occasional presence on the forum.

In particular, I remember one small 'joke' she perpetrated in the Rifle Room, along with an 'accomplice' (ArtieS, Mars_Attacks, Screaming cockatoo??) ) in which she posted about finding a deal on a "550" and allowed the thread to continue for a while before finally posting a photo. This was long after the import ban and before the SAN SIG 55X series became more commercially available... and she had several of us waiting impatiently for photos... only to finally reveal she had just bought a Remington 550.
She was a bit of an imp... but she had several of us going for a while and it was all in good fun. Smile

Martin-who-works-with-me has a habit of assigning names to people (I won't tell you what he calls me).

Several years ago, Alison came to the hangar on a Saturday, to help run our bottling machine for cleaning products.

When she took her jacket off, revealing the pistol in her hip holster, Martin named her "Annie Oakley."

Sorry to hear this. Prayers for Paragon.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I'm sorry to hear this news too. It had been quite a while since I last "saw" her on the forum.

May Alison rest in peace.

Sad to hear. I had the pleasure of meeting her at a shoot I attended in FL. V-Tail helped coordinate the shoot while I was in town, ArtieS, Dr. Dan and HRK were there as well as many others. We all had a good chance to visit at a local BBQ joint after the shoot. She was certainly in good company with other SigForum folk. She will be missed for sure.

I turned 60 this year and have had a few friends pass over the past year. Makes me really start to reflect on my own mortality and look back over the years.

I’ve met LOTS of folks in my time on this earth, many of which I wish I hadn’t. As such, it saddens me to hear of the passing of someone I wish I could have had the opportunity to have met.

Alison sounds like one of those folks. Prayers for her, she has been released from the pain and struggle. Prayers to her family and friends as well while they grieve the loss of a loved one.

I remember the forum name. May she rest in peace.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Didn't know her but remember her presence here. We've lost far too many these past few years.

I echo the sentiments of many here especially 911Boss.

Cancer is terrible in any form but brain cancer is especially nasty. Had a young Lieutenant go through that. It was devastating for his family.
