I actually watched the single season of their spin-off and I remember it was well written and at times funny. This is from the first episode, months before 9/11.

They definitely did a great job in casting the leads. Great chemistry between the two of them.

I generally don't like tv series with overarching themes. My take is it's a pretend overall storyline when, in reality, they're just meandering from episode to episode. At best, someone figured out how it starts and how it all wraps up but that's assuming a lot in terms of how long the series will last.

I liked X-files for the basic premise and then, once in a while, there are quaint humorous one-off stories. One episode comes to mind is an insurance agent who sees how people die?

ETA: had to ask ChatGPT. The episode is "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" which won an emmy for Peter Boyle's guest performance as Clyde Bruckman. It's the fourth episode in the third season orginally aired on October 13, 1995.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

wasn't there one episode where she had to take her top off, and had a bra on?

heady stuff for series in the 90.s,

and we loved the show,

but have not re watched it since

I watched every episode when they first ran but I find many of them unwatchable at this point.

The first season in '93 I also watched The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. before they pulled the plug on that after one season.
