Ever spent much time in the region? The PacNW, particularly PDX is ground-zero for antifa/blackbloc and the modern American anarchist movement which sprouted out of the 1999 Seattle WTO conference.
That entire region is choc-full of black-clad misfits whose entire existence revolves around arguing, agitating and protesting, we're taking thousands, with many more sympathetic characters that actually have jobs during the day. Take the 70's era counter-culture vibe and make them violent, that's downtown and surrounding Pearl District; the show Portlandia exists for a reason.

I live 20 miles West of Portland. This anarchy has been continuing for months. Local "leaders" are spinless (read: complaisant). I can't wait for the National Guard to start cracking these assholes heads and arresting them. Hopefully, no bail.
I'm secretly hoping that a few rubber bullets are used in the process.
