Also, I was thinking as I was watching that video, if the kitty decided to kill him, that would make for an awful video to be found by whoever found his body.

Could you talk her into OC ? Conical mist is more effective but stream is less likely to cross contaminate the user. Tell her to, "boop the snoot" with the stream.

A great reminder that to some critters, we can be food. A great reminder to always carry.

Years ago, A few of us were hunting elk in Central Montana. One of our party was lounging under a pine tree when he saw a Mt Lion sneaking up on him. The lion took a leap and my buddy shot him in the chest with a .44. He cut off it's head and later bleached it. It was beautiful.

I kept seeing large rocks that could be used for weapons. One good shot and it would have backed off. I’ve had my encounters with them before, not like this obviously, as well as coyotes, but I’m always armed. If there is wildlife, I’m armed or I’m not going to be there.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

I STILL can't get over that there he was, in a potentially life-threatening situation, and he's busy recording it on the freakin' toy phone.

He deserves to have gotten his a$$ chewed off.

I figure it would be like that bear whisper asshat, Timothy Treadwell. He and his girlfriend were killed by a grizzly bear while his camera recorded the audio. Rather horrific.

My wife and I have had three "maybe that was a cougar" sightings since living in SW Utah. Friends did encounter one in a canyon but they waved there arms and yelled and the cat left.

I know one SIGform member who's in Utah now and had asked me about cougars, hope he doesn't see this.

Can cougars be domesticated? Has anyone had any luck with such an endeavor?

That was a beautiful cat.

Ricky Bobby’s wayward and absentee father had a cougar. Can’t remember if it was named Tina or Laura. Fiesta feline for sure.

"Go away...I'm big and scary"

Apparently not...lol

I would have chunked some big rocks at her earlier in the proceedings.

Even here in WV, I won't go in the woods without at least a pistol.
Hiking the Greenbrier rail trail, you will come upon black bear occasionally. Pissed off momma bear aint cool either.

That's a good suggestion - I'll bring it up with her. Thanks.

I've come across one of those in the wild just once. Within a few yards actually, but thank God it couldn't get away from me fast enough. I've never seen anything run that fast.
