Disaster & Survival Preparedness

I've considered this idea for many years and I think I'm going to do it. The world seems a bit less certain these days, and a section of the forum dedicated to getting our ducks in a row for natural disasters and emergencies of all kind would be beneficial. Generators, radios, emergency lighting, kits to keep in cars and other types of kits- wilderness survival and shelter-in-place kits, for example. Tools, shelters, winter clothing, footwear- all the things to help cope with the extreme and the unexpected. Formulating contingency plans for various types of emergencies, and on and on.

The room will go into the Main section, in between The Essential Edge and The Gallery. Tomorrow or the next day.

I just wanted to give you guys a heads-up instead of the room just appearing suddenly

The contributions will, of course, come from the members, and I'll have some of my own contributions.

Didn’t even realize you had created this, and just posted a rambling on why I think the world is going to hell in a hand basket. Thanks Para, appreciate the space.

With all the good info and other resources which the members here provide, that is a most excellent idea - especially is insight is given as region specific (ie., does anyone in Georgia really need to know about earthquake preparedness?)
