I wanted an ergonomic keyboard because I always liked them when I used to type for 9 hours a day. They are really comfortable but I don’t work with computers much anymore. I’d still like an ergonomic keyboard but it’s not necessary anymore. I have a Microsoft Sculpt and it’s nice and I do like the detached number pad but it is Bluetooth and is very unreliable. It just stops working. It’ll go months without problems and then just stops working after a few minutes requiring a reboot to get it going again. I did all the useless troubleshooting that is online. Cleaned it, new batteries, nada! As usual the general Google advice is worthless. I’m just going back to a wired keyboard. Anything suggested? I very much welcome a list of “do not buy” that have caused you trouble along with a keyboard you’re happy with. Thanks

Been using a Logitech K350 for years Also have the M510 mouse, was bought as a combo. Never any connectivity issues here. We did have 1 user that went through 3 of these, but she was a really heavy user, to the point most of her keys had no letters on them. The Enemy's gate is down.

I use the wireless Logitech K270. They stop working or the mouse wears out after 2 to 3 years. All made in China. __________________________________________________ If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit! Sigs Owned - A Bunch

Same K350 and M510 combo here, several years old, used so much that some of the more common letters are wearing off the keys. No connectivity issues at all.. Can't imagine having to go wired, have enough of those for other things. Plus like being able to put these wherever I like.

I’m definitely going wired. There’s no point to wireless when you have a keyboard shelf under the desk.

For a durability, it’s hard to beat a good wired mechanical. ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

The ticka-tacka kind? I think they have them at Sam’s Club. I’m going there, probably tomorrow.

I have three of the Sculpts all wired. No problems. I cannot type on the flat keyboards in a laptop.

Where did you find a wired Sculpt? TBH the keys on the Sculpt aren’t good, they’re just in the right place.

The problem I had with wireless keyboards would always be when the operating system wouldn’t boot up due to some conflict or problem and you wanted to hit the function key to get into the bios, that wouldn’t work because the keyboard hadn’t synced to the PC yet since the appropriate drivers couldn’t start. Has that been overcome with current technology wireless keyboards and meese?

That seems to have been resolved. I can f12 the machine to get into Linux.

Is the number pad attached or is it separate and also wired?

I use Logitech K540 / M310 combos at work and home. No issues at all. -Rob I predict that there will be many suggestions and statements about the law made here, and some of them will be spectacularly wrong. - jhe888 A=A

I bought a 'BlackWeb' keyboard at Walmart about 5 years ago. Wired, and lighted keys. I think it was about $25. Has programmable function keys which I've never bothered to use as I only type on it. Integral number pad Still going strong.

I’m not tied to a brand but I do think Kensington has the best stuff.
