Thor-Lo’s are incredibly durable; but the loop weave on the bottom that provides the cushion—-one of the main advantages of Thor-Los—stays fluffier if you wash them inside out. I just found that out after wearing them exclusively for probably 20 years.

A fun fact about socks. If it is a technical material, a polyester based material designed to wick sweat, the use of fabric softener will inhibit the material's ability to do its job, i.e. move moisture away from the skin.
If all you are doing in your socks is wearing them for general everyday use, the drop in wicking performance probably does not matter. But if you are running (or exercising) in them in a humid environment, then you might want to skip the fabric softener.

Well he was quite clear actually. If you are just wearing them to Walmart which i suspect is true use fabric softener. If you are wearing them for their wicking ability then don’t use fabric softener. He was pretty clear no need to get all snarky and “do you work in the sock sector” stupid.
I much prefer Balega brand socks for all activities especially those requiring wicking.

bendable... I've gotta say, you've certainly shown a totally different side of yourself in this thread. You're generally extremely nice and affable. Probably the most out of any member of the forum, come to think of it. And I can't recall you ever resorting to snark, lashing out, name-calling, or post count posturing before. Yet you've exhibited all of the above over your past few posts.
Since this appears to be so out of character for you, I need to ask... Are you okay? Is there anything we can do to help? Or are you just having a bad day(s)?
There are many here now that have been away for long periods of time. And a percentage of them read a title and post, what ever they want , they don't read they initial post,
nor the 4th or the last. I am sick and firkin tired of people shitting in threads they don't start or read! It got old four weeks ago. I can disregard many of the crass, harmful and
insensitive stuff that they fling around, willy nilly. But when they spread their willingness to piss other members off ,
I get more than peeved. How many times have you witnessed me shitting in other people's threads? This message has been edited. Last edited by: bendable,

I have to agree with Bendable and will take it a step further on some people are thread shitting by:
making every thread about themselves. Not every thread applies to everyone. If it doesn’t apply then move on and don’t thread shit. Probably the best example of that was at the beginning of this whole lock down when someone posted a thread about tips for home officing which was promptly shit upon by people who are retired and people whose job didn’t let them home office and it ruined the whole purpose of the thread so those of us who rarely or are new to home officing could benefit by sharing how to be more productive and keep our jobs.
taking every thread down a tangent. I don’t know if it’s boredom, ADHD, both, or other but it’s still thread shitting. It’s a Thorlo thread and just because he used the words “sock” or “the” (some people are bordering on this bad on tangents) isn’t a reason for a tangent.

Thorlos are great socks! Have some that I bought approximately 20 years ago that are still going strong. Thanks for the heads up! I think I'll buy a few more.
