I'm on my third set of the Conti DWS. I think they're a good balance of performance and weather handling. I've averaged 36k miles from each set.

I went to the Michelin pilot as3+ on my BMW. Great summer ride and so far good in Ohio winter. Rain performance is also good. Totally different ride that run flats. Also 45k warranty.

Seems the Contis & Michelins are the leading suggestions.
Regarding the bolded bit above, I'd only get 22.5k warranty on the rears due to the staggered setup on the car. The Potenza don't specifically mention a reduction due to staggered setup. Didn't check the Contis yet.

I am a bit biased as I run Pirelli's on my sports car but then again, it never sees snow or rain

its a 3 - 3.25 season car down here

My grandmother has Pirelli Cinturato on her S550, but they're more of a GT All-Season. They seem to handle the TT V8 in hers pretty well, but I think they're a bit less suited to a more sporty (albeit much less powerful) sedan.
Houston is a 3.5 season city too, so super low temp performance isn't too big of a factor.

I had the DWS Conti on my Miata and were happy with them. Great in the wet.

I think they were slightly tweaked between the set I had and the current ones and are supposed to be improved a bit but my experience with the "older" version was that
they are slightly softer in the sidewall than most brands. I could feel that when pushed (more prone to rolling over) but a pound or two extra air helps that. They were a little noisy but not bad.

I would not hesitate to buy them again when the OEM set on the new Miata wear out.

I had multiple sets of those Contis on my last Altima (over 300K+ miles) and was very happy with them in all weather. I’m a “spirited” driver, FWIW.

DWS06. Running them now under 350hp/350tq. Amazing tires. I’m in Tejas so I use them as winters (we rarely get snow but get low temps and heaps and heaps of rain). They are amazing tires in the wet, cold, dry. Best all around tire imo.
Come May I switch to ExtremeContact sports.

No offense but you don't need ultra high performance all season tires for a C300 that is used as a DD...we have the 4matic version, it's my wife's DD and we have Michelin A/S on hers.

None taken, but I've had Michelin Primacy on a prior car & similarly classed A/S tires on others, and it doesn't take much of a push to get them to slip.
I know the C isn't a sports car, but a high(er) performance A/S tire is what I'm going with, and appreciate the real life reviews presented here.

Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ is what I put on my Tiguan 4Motion. I have never had bad Michelins.

I have nothing to add to the thought of which tires for your car, but I will strongly suggest that you get a wheel alignment done from a reputable shop as well to make sure you maximize your tire life.

Had a couple sets of these on an Infiniti G35 and liked them. They most definitely aren't as grippy as the performance Pilots or P-zeros I've got on other cars, but are serviceable in colder, rainy weather than those.

They did suck royally in even the dusting of snow we'd get from time to time in DFW area, but in Houston you should be fine.

I was getting ~30K out of them, which was fine for me.

I put these on our Flex based on the review from LBJ here. They've been great in all conditions so far, high heat in Houston to low 20s in Flagstaff, AZ.
Good grip in heavy rain (more common in Houston) as well.

But, of the 4 listed, they're also the priciest as just sub-$1k before installation.

I have and old Z3 as a daily driver. The cars have a tendency to tramline. When it is warm they do great. When it gets very cold they get hard the car tramlines a bit more. As others said you should have no issues In Houston. As these run out I would replace them with the same

have the Michelin AS3+ on my AWD CTS Sport Wagon...driven through ChicagoLand Winters and this is the 3rd Winter (although we haven't had much snow as yet)...remembering that mine is AWD the Michelin's have done pretty well as long as I don't act like I'm driving a Jeep CJ...

Bought Continental DSW06s for the GF's Malibu FWD Turbo and she loves them thus far (only on since Black Friday) over the crappy OEM Goodyear Eagle LS2s...

I bet you won't go wrong with either of these choices...

Tirerack's testing show the Michelin's 1st and the Conti's a very close 2nd with the Conti's slightly better in the snow and the Michelin's better in dry and wet...

How much winter do you actually get in Houston?

I personally got 40k miles out of a set of these summer tires: Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 The UTOQ is 240, but they wear like 400's.

They are fantastic tires: Smooth, quiet, even wear, great feel, great traction in the twisty stuff. If they made them in the size I need for my current vehicles, they would be the only tire I would ever buy again.

I swapped out the summer run flats on my C400 4Matic for a set of Conti DWS when I bought it and recently changed to Michelin A/V S3+ and I couldn't be happier. The Michelin rides better and is noticeably quieter.

I run the Conti DWS06 for 3 seasons on our BMW 550x and 440x - then Nokian Hakkapelita R2's for winter. I've had the predecessor DWS Contis on several other cars, and have nothing but praise for these tires. That said, the Michi's are a great tire too.
Our Bullitt Mustang came with Michi PS4, but is now wearing Hakka snow boots.
