This is to all that share love and friendship with pets in this forum.

This morning I found Alaska, my companion of 20 years , in his kennel. I first thought he was asleep, but realized not.

Every good friend should be honored, we had a long life together, and I wanted to put my feelings here, among all the good friends and pet companions in Sig Forum. Alaska and I walked hundreds of miles together over the years, thank you Alaska for trudging with me, I would always tell him, I wish he and I were up in Talkeetna, AK, and also, everyone would tell him what a beautiful husky he was.

I knew this day would come, but like all of you, it hits you terribly no matter how long you prepare for it. I just want the world and all my friends to know what a wonderful friend Alaska was to me, we had a good life. His health had been declining , and I was so lucky to have been blessed with his longevity.

Treat your pets kindly. Goodbye Alaska boy, see you in Talkeetna.

Bruce

RIP Alaska. He's lived a good life being he was 20.

Like you said, nothing can prepare you, but at least you knew you gave him the best life you could.

What a handsome fella. My condolences on your loss, I know too well how hard it is.

Twenty years! I know the longer they stay with us, the harder it is when they leave, but that's an amazing life. Despite the pain you're going through (and I've been there, too many times to recount) I'm happy for the time you had together.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and for not having the moments to say goodbye. I have to say though, very very few Huskies every see 20 years of age. He must have had quite a friend to live for every day.

Oh, and from a guy who sees quite a few Huskys--- he's a handsome boy!

So very sad for your loss.

Alaska certainly had a very good, long time with you.

Although it is heartbreaking to lose our beloved family, please find peace in the knowledge that you will be together again.

God bless you, Alaska.
