The FBI has said that it prevented a potential terrorist attack in Michigan, arresting multiple suspects accused of plotting violence over the Halloween weekend.

"This morning, the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend," FBI Director Kash Patel posted on X.

"More details to come," Patel wrote. "Thanks to the men and women of FBI and law enforcement everywhere standing guard 24/7 and crushing our mission to defend the homeland."

Just woke up to this news a bit ago. Obviously will be watching this story develop. So far nothing released by the MSP but this excerpt was posted by CBS News:

The Dearborn Police Department said in a post on Facebook that it's aware that the FBI conducted operations in the city on Friday morning.

"We want to assure our residents that there is no threat to the community at this time," the post said.

I can’t verify or deny the call to prayer since I haven’t stepped foot in Dearborn in almost twenty years. Videos have been posted on YouTube though.

Last time my oldest daughter and I went “ghost chasing” as I called it. Early on Easter Sunday morning we had several addresses and a few old photos dating back to 1930 and went looking for those places where my maternal side lived through the mid 40’s. Mostly along the West Warren corridor and near the Rouge Complex and also along Dix Avenue.

Before my late mother moved out west in ‘75 she wanted one last drive through the old places. We spent (coincidentally) that Easter Sunday morning doing the same thing. I wish I had written down some of those addresses but I didn’t.

Don’t have any desire to repeat this, let the ghosts lie.

Unconfirmed report also says a raid was also conducted in Inkster. That part kind of surprises my, completely different demographics more in line with Detroit.

I have a friend of 20+ years who has been a full-time missionary 10+ years. Many years ago, he was a salesman and signed up with our church to go on his first short-term international mission trip. As part of the training leading up to the international trip, the group took a day trip where they practiced sharing the Gospel with Muslims in Dearborn as it has the the largest Muslim population per capita in the United States. For that day trip, the group met up with a full-time missionary in Dearborn, and that missionary took them to a bookstore in Dearborn where they were shown a children's coloring book depicting killing Jews. Sickening.

This was post-9/11 too.

The FBI Detroit field office confirmed to the Daily Mail that it raided three homes in the Detroit suburbs of Dearborn and Inkster.

Authorities brought into custody a handful of ISIS-inspired individuals allegedly planning a violent Halloween weekend attack, according to sources familiar with the operation who spoke with the New York Post.

Weapons including legally owned guns were recovered at the scene and sources described the suspects as home-grown radicals.

Authorities are investigating possible foreign contacts of the five arrested on Friday.

FBI Director Kash Patel posted on X on Friday morning that multiple people were arrested in Michigan in connection to a Halloween terror plot.

It comes as millions of Americans are preparing to hit the streets tonight and over the weekend for trick-or-treating and Halloween parties and festivities.

'There is no current threat to public safety,' a spokesperson for the Detroit field office insisted.

Members of the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force were pictured on Friday armed with rifles outside multiple homes in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn.

The people arrested were described as 'homegrown radicals' by the Post, and reportedly included a 16-year-old juvenile.

A federal law enforcement source told Fox News that the Friday arrests were of those 'tied to international terrorism.'

This one was closer to me than I would have preferred. Fortunately, Halloween was enjoyable for all.
