We do a process to clean up after our male cat.

First we clean/soak up all the excess liquid, then wash down the area with a mix of white vinigar and water. After that we apply Mary Ellen’s Atmosklear liberally to makes sure we get every area where the cat peed. If it’s a heavy pee on carpet, be sure to soak the pad underneath.

If on carpet and once the treatment dries, I sometimes lay down some baking soda to absorb the smell too. Let a good coating of baking soda sit for a couple days then vacuum up.

The Mary Ellen’s Atmosklear is expensive but IMO much better than the other options out there. Also, it does not contain perfumes to mask the small like Icky Poo. Natures Miracle is okay not not as good as Atmosklear.

Nature’s Miracle Laundry Boost works well and doesn’t have the obnoxious smell of the spray on stuff. If you need to wash something that’s been peed on you just add it to the wash with detergent.
