I have lived the greatest adventure |
I've been on the Optavia diet around a year. I lost around 55 pounds, have put about 20 back on due to slacking off. I'd like to lose around 80 more and am back on it. Doctor took me off of Bydureon and I just take Metformin 500mg twice a day. My A1C is 5.4, down from well over 7 when I found out I was diabetic in 2008. I had previously been on an appetite suppressant where I lost around 60 pounds, so I'm down around 105 since my all-time high of 389. Optavia - you eat 1 or 2 lean-and-green meals each day and their "fuelings" (bars, shakes cereal, etc.) 4-5 times each day. Yes, it's kind of pricy, and some of their fuelings are awful, but many are fine and it's pretty easy to follow as long as you have the discipline to stick with it. Phone's ringing, Dude.

fugitive from reality |
I've been type two for about 6 years now. It took me almost a year to get used to the metformin, but with my meds my A1C is 6.2\6.4. I don't follow a specific diet. I don't drink any sweetened fluids or eat anything with more than 10 grams of carbs per serving. Foods like pizza and high proteen pasta don't spike my blood sugar, but you have to be careful of condiemts and sauces. No sugar added is my new shopping buzz phrase, and goes a long way towards keeping my A1C where it should be. _____________________________ 'I'm pretty fly for a white guy'.

My wife has been a Type One diabetic for over 60 years. She eats anything and everything she wants to eat. What she DOESN'T do is eat a lot of junk food. Ice cream on occasion, cake, candy etc rarely.
