This one was modeled on the Washington law. Veterans will also be hit by this - if a family member says they are 'suicidal' or they get treatment for PTSD they can be forced to surrender their firearms - as well as the bogus claims by spurned exes. I feed bad for people living in states like this.

News story about the bill:

Here's a list of the votes:

Here's the text of the bill:

Well, I could see how an enterprising radical political type could swear, for example CNN employee was a danger. Alinsky was right-use their own rules against them.

Don't state governors swear this oath?

If they do so, and knowingly undertake actions contrary to the wording of the oath and all it amendments, then how can they continue to hold office?

Tac, they continue to hold office for the same reason we have retirees from our federal offices! They have no intention of actually honoring their oath. It is nothing more than an aural step that must be taken in order for them to assume the offices.

Once upon a time, my wife and I considered a move to Oregon, but that got swept off the table when we realized we may have the same problem 5 years down the road.

We have good friends in the southern Oregon area (going to visit in a few weeks) and they are conservative transplants from CA, moved years ago. They are now dismayed that CA liberalism is following them, albeit mostly in the northern area.

That's why northern California and southern Oregon have postulated leaving their respective states and together forming a new state "Jefferson". I doubt it will happen--too many hurdles to leap--but they do talk about it.
