The Win 11 may not be the issue but that’s when we noticed the issue. We have a HP Color LaserJet Pro M255 with errors. Specifically 79 service error and stuck in initialization offline loop. It also seems to start loading a page to print and then jams. It’s initialized 3 times since I started this post. All the updates and firmware have been applied, restarted, unplugged, uninstalled ets. Downloaded the HP trouble shooter etc. it’s plugged straight to power with no surge protector or anything. Randomly it will finally print a test page but nothing else. We just spent $400 in Cartridges for it or I’d Office Space the damn thing. It worked awesome and had very few pages printed in the last 2-3 years. Do not send me to a heaven where there are no dogs. Step Up or Stand Aside: Support the Troops ! In situations like this it is wise to consult the manufacturer's support. https://support.hp.com/us-en/d...h_1688155-1419235-16 Additionally, if you believe the driver to be an issue - try to use a prior driver version (revert) maybe even Windows 10. I have had similar issues but different devices. Also make sure the printer is certified for W11 and/or consult an HP Forum as it should have a better depth of experience on the issue.

Oddly enough, HP website and support is the first place I tried. I’ve spent quite a bit of time at HP website , unlike most people maybe. Spent the time there and various hp pages as well except the PLC6 stuff you posted. It’s mostly plug unplug, wait 30 seconds etc. Used their app, UN install etc. Last option is to call HP but I’ve always had better support from this forum than any manufacturer support and there always seems to be that one thing that someone tripped over that fixes it but isn’t listed or “official “. I don’t think I can revert drivers as this machine was a Win 10 with the code for Win 11 pro so it was never used with Win 10 software. Previous machine was Win 8.1… Do not send me to a heaven where there are no dogs. Step Up or Stand Aside: Support the Troops ! Expectations are premeditated disappointments.

I've used this for years to uninstall programs with no issues. It will give you the option to remove registry entries, and then folders and files. Remove your printer drivers with this and try to reinstall the printer driver. Might be worth a shot at least. I have always deleted everything it finds, that being said make an image, or whatever back up you see fit first. https://www.revouninstaller.co...vo-uninstaller-free/ "We've done four already, but now we're steady..."

I had a xerox for 6 years that was flawless. Truly the best printer experience of my life. Updated to win 11 and it would only print, no longer scan/fax and the delay was a good 5 or 6 minutes till the page would print. Installed it a few times, updated all software, nothing worked. Looked at the xerox page and it is not compatible with win 11. Really? wtf???? So I bought a new brother laser and see how long this one lasts till windows updates and makes it obsolete. Windows 11 is now the Windows 8 of years past. Nice idea, screwed up a lot of programs, added features very few wanted and was no improvement over the previous version (7). Brother is pretty good about publishing drivers. I have tried HP, Samsung, and other printers. Brother's software has been the most trouble-free. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

I wouldn't say that, but I agree W11 isn't the breakthrough like Windows 7 was over XP or W10 over W7 (yeah, I skipped W8 and Vista > both came up short). Windows 11 first off is made for current hardware - not recommended for legacy upgrades. First, Microsoft gets blamed for everything. More specifically blamed when old devices don't function. The device manufacturers are responsible to keep their drivers up to date. There are exceptions no doubt but blaming an OS all the time is very insufficient IMO as you need to weigh all the factors.

To each his own. I've got very current gear. 11 only on my laptop. It does nothing 10 doesn't. Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grandchildren are once more slaves. -D.H. Lawrence

"To each his own" has nothing to do with it. ![]() In fact I was pretty much substantiating that W11 was not anything dramatic over W10. Nothing worth arguing over. ![]()

I couldn’t get it working by doing all the uninstall reinstall, unplug for 30sec but not longer than 30 sec, update drivers, revert etc. voodoo, but was able to make it work 100% wirelessly. Disconnected the Cat5 from the printer and ran the printer setup utility. It works, I sometimes get a communication error pop up but it doesn’t affect anything and we can print from either the Win 10 laptop or Win 11 Pro desktop. All else works. Thanks all! I remember having similar problems with HP printers after upgrading Windows versions (not 10 to 11; before that). Printer was down for weeks until a driver was available. And took quite a bit of effort. I generally uncomfortable with Windows upgrades. Was forced to move to 11 from 10 at work recently. I hate that the taskbar can’t be moved to the left / right - it only allows for bottom (maybe top). Seriously, is it really that hard to keep that feature?
