I just got off the phone with Spectrum to switch to their internet/TV service and the rep asked if I wanted to switch my cell service over. I was told that not only did they have their own towers, but also used Verizon towers...Verizon is my current provider. And as part of the bundle, the cell service is free!
Sounds like a heck of a deal if the service is any good...but sounds like it ought to be at least as good.
Any thoughts?

I switched several months ago. I was paying Verizon 85 dollars a month, with Spectrum I get one year free then 30 dollars a month. I don't see any difference in service.
Never had the phones. Still have the TV. Finally changed the net over to United fiber which is through our electric coop. It’s been great.
The spectrum net was terrible here and tv can be poor and many many locals here agree. Had Charter/Spectrum for over twenty years and at times has been really bad with all kinds of issues. Hope the service is better in your area.
When the phones came out years ago they got pushed hard but after years and years of shitty tv and net there was no way in hell I was going to put all my eggs in one basket.
Have been with AT&T forever and here they have the best coverage and never any issues.
Good luck with Spectrum! Hope it is better in your area.

I do and it's great value, as noted above, even if you pay their usual rates. If they're throwing it in to your existing deal, that's even sweeter.
They can't sell to anyone who isn't one of their cable/internet customers (part of their deal to use the Verizon infrastructure, I believe) but since you switched, you're good to go.

We took advantage of that same deal package deal to get a year free and the wife switched from Visible (Verizon) to Spectrum (Verizon) and has had no issues or complaints
Ours is $30 a month for two lines, and I've got signal at my house where I didn't with AT&T. You have to be a Spectrum internet customer, but since they're the only game in town where I live, it's a no brainer.

I left Spectrum couple years ago because of the continual price increases for internet service, took all of our internet access and cell phone service to T-Mobile (five year price guarantee).
At the time we were with Spectrum, you were not required to have their internet service in order to use their cell phone service; however, if you were not an internet customer, the phone service was $20 / month higher.
As far as quality of cell service, it was much better than AT&T in my area, especially at Our Little Airport, where Spectrum (Verizon towers) was solid, AT&T really spotty.

TL Davis: “The Second Amendment is special, not because it protects guns, but because its violation signals a government with the intention to oppress its people…” Remember: After the first one, the rest are free.
I would verify what the terms are on pricing for all services you are getting.
Charter/Spectrum has always offered up discount package deals that are really good but only last for a limited time then they hit you with the increases or go back to the regular pricing.

This is why I fired Spectrum. Now I am receiving offers in the mail, asking me to return.

For a long time Spectrum was really the only TV provider and the second internet provider in my area over 20 years ago. They sucked back then so I went with AT&T DSL Internet and DirecTV satellite TV.
Now I have AT&T fiber internet and do all streaming TV. I still hear that Spectrum sucks like hell where I live.
Sorry, I just realized you were asking about cell phone service. I have never used them for that and would be hesitant to unless they have improved.

I've completed my switch to Spectrum internet service and took advantage of their free cell service promotion for one year. The internet change alone will save me a bunch and the speed is better than before.
When the two year internet and one year phone promotions end, I'll still be paying far less than I was with my previous provider and Verizon.
As far as I can see, a can't lose decision.
I'd recommend it if it's available in your area.
