I hope the political statement works. In Maryland, I don't see this ending well.

PMA dude, Positive Mental Attitude.

Have some faith that gun-owners and more importantly, those who value personal defense, and personal freedom can come together and show what opposition looks like in a democracy. While conservatives aren't known for demonstrations and protests, the reality is, these legislators and policy makers live-in a bubble. Having them actually face the very people they intend to criminalize and marginalize, will make them think twice about what they are advocating. I know Maryland is very blue, however, every blue state has large swaths of territory where conservatives have been pushed aside...non-coastal CA, upstate NY, not NOVA, Eastern OR, everyplace outside of King Co WA, etc... Good for these folks to peacefully organize and stand up to the tyrants.

I applaud the good gun owners of Maryland. I think they may be on to something with "We will not comply". These Bloomberg paid shills like Moms Demand Action need to be countered with common sense against their nonsense and crap!

I was proud to stand up with my brothers and sisters in Annapolis to fight against these unjust laws. On Friday I will be going again. MD has a civilian review board to which people can appeal the narrow restrictions placed on their carry permits. If they can even get one. Unless you are a politician or friend of one, forget about getting one. Since the board has been overturning the State Police restrictions, they want to end the Board and the only recourse will be a panel of judges, who will of course, side with the State.

The key to enforcement is to punish the violator, not an inanimate object. The punishment of inanimate objects for the commission of a crime or carelessness is an affront to stupidity.

Love it. Been in MD this last year and the gun laws are idiotic. Especially with all the military.

And some of the areas I'm in around baltimore are places I wouldn't be without protection.

Awesome, BigCity! Keep up the good fight.

This sounds all well and good, but how will it work in practice. Of course, a lot depends on the actual law in question. In general, it can go one of three ways .

- The don't comply, and no one notices. This is fine until something happens that get on LE's radar, then the none complier is screwed.

- The government engineers a system where it's not functionally possible to not comply. Think AWBs or the like. The force the dealers to not carry the items, and they're just not available.

- The government look for scapegoats, and drop the hammers on whoever they find. This tidbit is in the news. he didn't comply, and now he's getting a few years in an orange jumpsuit. https://sigforum.com/eve/forums...0601935/m/1590002454

Yes, I would peacefully keep my property, even if it became 'illegal' and then I'd try to stay off the radar.

But, here, this peaceful protest also brings attention to how stupid the law is in the first place.
If enough people join the protest it sends a message, both to the politicians and to the voters. That's the only way you will change the law.

I agree. Going political is the proper way to deal with this. The problem is the other side knows and does this too, and in a lot of places, outnumber us.

Though your points are well made, if we as a group don't eventually get to a point of standing together against this BS, we'll have zero 2A rights left. The current crop of leftists in Washington and many states legislatures no longer care about the law or constitution and will happily plow right through any rights we 'thought' we had as Americans.

IMO its time for some really strong push back against all of these people passing gun rights infringing legislation. "I will not comply" is an excellent start.

As of 2015 there were 5000+ federal laws and hundreds of thousands of pages of regulations. How anyone could be in compliance with all these laws plus all the state and local laws is inconceivable. If they want to get you they just have to keep looking until they find some inane, archaic law that you violated. Its not about being law abiding, its about not being a target.
