The Eagle Has Landed
Was working at a carnival in Palatine, IL at the time.
The entire carnival stopped during that time as we all crowded around a small portable TV set an owner's son had brought.

A very vivid time for me, that summer of 1969. I was 8 years old. Yes, I watched the landing live with my family. I recall being frustrated that the astronauts didn't just run out of the LEM 10 seconds after it touched down. It seemed to take a very long time for anythng to happen.

My father took a pictUre of the TV screen with a Polaraoid camera. It showed an astronaut standing on the moon. I wish I'd kept it.
