Right now it is only approved for liver cancer but that may change.

I wonder what one of those units would cost a hospital? $1M+?

As much as I hate to say it, my opinion only.
They know what can cause it.
They know how to treat it.
They really need to focus on a cure for it.

I was just reading about this. About $17,000 per treatment.

Honestly that isn’t very much. When I went through chemo (hours of IV chemo) they would send me home with a “pump” taped to my arm that would meter out a different chemo over the next 36 hours (if I remember correctly). At the end it would beep and I would tear it off and throw it in the trash. Cost? They told me each one was in the low teens $$$ wise.

I don’t know if they have a cure. I agree the big pharma money is on not having a cure and just treating the disease. On the other hand cancer is so prevalent that nearly everyone has lost a loved one to cancer. I doubt some Dr who found a cure would sit on it if his kid was dying of a curable disease.

So, while I think it sounds cool to say there is a vault containing the cure for cancer right next to the perpetual motion machine and the engine that runs on water, it probably isn’t true.

Despite the costs..it's wonderful to see the progress on technology to fight this cancer. Hopefully it will become common in its use with no ill side effects.

Overindulgence in Alcohol and smoking are primary causes. Genetics and environmental factors as well.

The one the wife had like that in 2017 was billed at $24k, hospital got $12k.

$17k retail seems in the expected ballpark.
