I have a shelf in my car that is convenient for sunglasses and other items but they slide around too much. Someone suggested contact paper like you would line your cabinet shelves with. I’m not sure contact paper would work but I’ll look. Does anybody have another suggestion?

Go to a thrift store, and purchase a cheap yoga mat.

Cut up the mat to fit the space you need.

The soft grippy drawer liner material works perfectly for this and comes in various colors. I always keep a square in my car to set my phone on.

I’m assuming you’re talking about a small area.
Home Depot has Rubber contact paper for tool boxes that you can cut to size.
They also sell a 3M product that’s a little more aggressive than grip tape, and they also have a rubberized version.

If you cut it properly, you can also use the stuff is grip tape for your hand gun.

I have a little rubber tray I got off Amazon. Works great and it was cheap. There is a ton of them for sale there.

I had forgotten that drawer liners are different from the old contact paper liners. They are perfect for cutting to size and stopping items from rolling all over. I’m gonna go with that. Thanks for your suggestions.

I’d get black if it’s going on the dash board. Just take it off when not using it so it doesn’t cause a spot in the sun.
