It was 25 years ago, that I worked for Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) -- manufacturer of the PDP-8, PDP-11, and VAX lines of computers. There was another pilot guy working at DEC, a really, really, sharp software guy. John Miano.

DEC sort of disintegrated in the mid 1990s. John and I both wound up doing contract software work, at different places. We kept in touch, on and off. We both wound up losing our contracts to H-1B workers, who were brought in mostly from the Asian sub-continent (India, Pakistan, etc.) and who would perform the job, sort of, for much lower pay. Software quality produced by these guys left something to be desired.

Anyway, after John lost his contract work, he left software development and went to law school. With his brilliant mind, he breezed through, and then launched into a career of fighting H-1B visas. Last time I saw him / spoke with him was around 1998 or 1999, but I see his name in the news every once in a while.

I wish him all the success in the world, fighting the abuse of H-1B visas. For those of you who might not know, the intent of this program was to allow offshore workers to come here for employment if no qualified Americans could be found to do the work. The program is, and mostly always has been, abused by employers seeking imported workers who will work for much lower pay than the Americans had been getting, thus displacing American workers from skilled technical jobs. It really sucks, and no politician has done anything about it. Go get 'em, John!

After waiting for the debates, I decided to skip this one, not watching it. The premise smelled bad from the start.

I didn't watch this "forum" or whatever it was called. But if Trump did do poorly, it's good for him and his advisers to see this now, before the first debate-- which will have a record-breaking audience.

He's a smart guy, has a good team, they will learn from this and be the better for it in the debate.

Whatever Trump said "wrong" again hasn't aired on the West Coast yet. I did try to watch "The Rachel Maddow Show" on MSNBC to see if the CiC Forum was being shown there, but I accidentally selected The Weather Channel's "Freaks of Nature" which is right above Rachel Maddows on my DVR. I was briefly confused, and then I laughed. (true story)

I can tell you that Rachel Maddow feels that Trump is "very dangerous."

H1B is a cancer is the US, brought to us by useless politicians and lawyers. Used and abused by many companies. It is going to take a concerted effort on our part to get this changed - with Trump on our side it may be possible. But it will involve many phone calls and letters to Congress and the Senate. Trump is the only willing candidate.

Donald Trump is not a politician, he is a leader, politicians are a dime a dozen, leaders are priceless.

I liked what I saw last night.

The Rightful Heir to the Throne was presented with puff questions and repeatedly reminded us that she has extensive experience interacting with royalty.

And then Matt Lauer tried to break Donald Trump. That didn't work. There did seem to be an awkward moment, but you feel free to watch last night's Rachel Maddow Show in its entirety if you want to obsess over Trump's imperfection.

The roundup from the MSM this morning is that:

- Hillary looked presidential, Trump did not.

- Lauer seemed to favor Trump and didn't hit him hard like he did Hillary.

- Trump became frustrated and contradicted himself time and time again.

- Trump is infatuated with Putin and that's dangerous.

- Trump's ignorance of the issues makes him unqualified.

- Hillary can't shake the email issue. If she loses, that's why.

In other words, more-or-less exactly what you would have expected from the MSM.

Was Hillary Clinton wearing an earpiece during last night’s presidential forum? That’s the latest question swirling around the Internet after pictures appeared to show Hillary with some kind of flesh-colored device embedded inside her ear.

Conservative actor James Woods drew attention the issue with the simple question, “Earpiece?” and a close up image of Hillary from last night’s forum.

Woods also posted a Clinton email from the Wikileaks archive in which Huma Abedin asked Hillary, “Did u take your earpiece or do I need to get it?”

“She can’t even #lie without help from a gaggle of other #liars through an earpiece,” tweeted Woods.

“She literally can’t help herself. She’s the kind of sociopath who will lie even if the truth were more beneficial,” added Woods, linking to an article by TruePundit which reported that Hillary was wearing an earpiece to receive “stealth coaching” during the NBC live town hall event.

“NYPD sources involved with the NBC forum’s security detail confirm Clinton was wearing an ‘inductive earpiece,” the same technology employed by almost all lead Broadway actors to receive forgotten lines and stealth off-stage cues from directors. The flesh-colored earbud is easily concealed. There are no wires running directly to the ear like you see with the units employed by Secret Service protection detail personnel,” claimed the article.

The report goes on to provide technical details about the earpiece, asserting that it is “almost invisible to anyone” and is “normally issued to law enforcement or corporate security teams.”

The story also drew almost a thousand comments over on The Donald subreddit, with one user commenting, “Either she admits a health issue and says she’s deaf or she admits to cheating.”

“I commented earlier during the Town Hall saying her responses seemed a little slower than normal. Now it all makes sense,” responded another.

Another user remarked that Hillary appeared to be uttering broken sentences such as “I think that’s an ex—- actly right way to proceed.”

This is not the first time Clinton has faced charges that she was wearing an earpiece during a crucial event – similar claims were made after her appearance in front of the House Select Benghazi Hearing in October last year.

Of course, the earpiece could have just been a hearing aid, although there doesn’t appear to be any admission or record of Hillary wearing one in the past.

If it can be proved that this is indeed a receiver, and someone was feeding her answers to the questions being asked, that is a game changer. Even the liberal media couldn't hide her from the damage.

The earpiece story is abuzz all over the internet, but I could not find a more reliable source than Infowars. Lots and lots of blogs I'm not familiar with.

I would guess that Fox will pick up the story tonight, Hannity for sure, if it seems certain that it was a listening device and not a hearing aid.

Since we have programmers on here:

"Secretary Clinton, how do you feel about the Ken Thompson's airline travel delay caused by him traveling with a handgun?"

"That's a good question Matt! I feel that Ken Thompson should have common sense and only co-design the UNIX operating system which is the basis of all technological devices not influenced by Bill Gates, including anything Apple or Android or Linux, which likely includes your ISP's modem."

"Secretary Clinton, it is truly an honor to be in your presence."

That would not have happend if he had a FM earpiece and not an induction earpiece. The induction earpiece is using a loop that is transmiting the audio signal to any near loops. So the microphone received the same audio signal that he was hearing in the earpiece.

There's a difference between using it for prepared statements, and using it to receive input on how to respond to questions.

That was the point wasn't it? To hear Hillary's answers? If we wanted answers from the person talking into the microphone, why not just put them up on stage?

To bad its illegal for Trump to deploy a jammer during the debates, she would be like a deer in the headlights.

Bush was alleged to be receiving answers from an earpiece during his debates. I'll try to find a historical reference later if really needed.

I am an independent in general, including voter. Much less important than how I vote, I want Donald Trump to be elected the next President of the United States of America. The earpiece thing has been done and is going nowhere.
