Taking a selfie with a loaded gun ended tragically in Washington when a man accidentally shot himself in the face while taking a picture. His girlfriend was next to him when the gun went off.

The fatal accident took place over the weekend, police in Skagit County said.

The man, whose name has not been released, thought the gun was unloaded and attempted to take a selfie while pointing the weapon at himself, the Skagit Valley Herald reported.

The couple had taken several selfies with the same gun on Sunday. Each time, he would unload the gun before taking a picture and then load the bullets back afterwards. This was not the case with the man’s last selfie as he apparently left one fatal bullet inside the chamber before the final photograph.


Remember:

ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction
ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot
ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use
NEVER point your gun at your head and pull the trigger unless your objective is blowing your brains all over your girlfriend
FWIW, The Trump connection is only being reported on the clickbait scam news sites ripping off each other's story. None of the stories on legitimate news sites have that angle. Might still be true, but dubious.

Can't say I'm the biggest Trump fan, but the way he is being treated is beginning to bring me around. The anti-Trump rallies are despicable and just make Trump seem more credible.

Seems like much of the opposition to Trump are using the same lines I heard back in the 80's. You know, the end of the world if Reagan was elected. I seem to remember it turned out OK.

I remember those days, too. My brother hasn't voted since the 70s but he registered and just has to participate this year because he believes Trump will actually make a difference.

One of my favorite stories from Reagan involved a problem in the White House. There was a mouse or rat that was in the wall and under Carter, the GSA and Dept. of the Interior were arguing about who had the responsibility to get the rat out.

When Reagan took office, he simply called a local business that came out and got the job done. Bureaucracy is not something Reagan had a stomach for. He was a "let's get something done" kind of guy. Trump, to me, has some of that same attitude.

More and more I hope the GPOe does try to derail Mr. Trump's nomination. It would mean the death of the GOPe for once and all.

Ironic that the only thing shifting and changing is everyone but Trump.

It may well be that we have slipped so for towards the abyss that "Balaam's Ass" speaks the truth/blessing we need to hear, but nonetheless, Trump is right, and like it or don't, he is leading for a reason.

AIPAC president Lillian Pinkus read a statement from the stage on Tuesday to disavow Trump’s remarks.

“We say unequivocally that we do not countenance ad hominem attacks, and we take great offense to those that are levied against the United States of America from our stage,” Pinkus said. “While we may have policy differences, we deeply respect the office of the president of the United States and our president, Barack Obama.”

She also castigated attendees who responded positively to Trump’s comments.

“There are people in our AIPAC family who were deeply hurt last night, and for that, we are deeply sorry,” Pinkus said. “We are disappointed that so many people applauded a sentiment that we neither agree with or condone.”
