Thanks all! The biggest hurdle currently is trying to find a suitable trailer that won't break the bank. Unfortunately it needs a 6' wide minimum trailer which eliminates all of the affordable 5' wide trailers.

Looking good!

Get on Facebook marketplace and craigslist, there's always someone who started a project and needed a trailer, or stopped hauling things, and their wife wants it out of the yard or garage..

So what's the plan? Small rail line around the neighborhood/farm?

There is a national organization that does excursions on various railroads. But for more day to day there's a rail trail a couple hours north that has the rails still in place. A local speeder club maintains the tracks and has authorization to run on it at any time. Here's a video from last year's open house there:

I'm headed up that way for a few days on Tuesday. Here's hoping all goes well. Got it set up on the trailer and ready to go.

Are you going to put the original railroad markings back on it as part of its restoration?

I'll put the RR markings on if I can find them. Unfortunately the car # is all but flaked off. I've reached out to the Canadian Pacific Historical Society to see if they have any archival photos. The horns will go on once I get the compressor and tank.
