Homeland Security Investigations agents executed a pre-dawn, judicially authorized search warrant at the Washington, D.C.-area residence of Democratic U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar as part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation.
Reporting from Fox News indicates the search stems from a federal fraud probe examining historical immigration paperwork completed by her late father when she arrived in the United States as a child.
The Department of Justice confirmed the HSI action in a statement, noting: "Today in the Washington, D.C., area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice. This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation".
The raid follows earlier comments by border czar Tom Homan confirming that the Minnesota congresswoman was subject to an active federal investigation.
Neither Rep. Omar nor her legal counsel has formally responded regarding the specifics of the search, and the Department of Justice has not released supporting affidavits or announced formal charges.

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s home raiding by HSI (investigative arm of ICE) this morning.

This is big.

Remember, Ilhan Omar is probably NOT a validly naturalized citizen. Yes, she obtained naturalization. BUT, it was seemingly obtained fraudulently. How?

Ilhan Omar’s father claimed asylum in the United States for his family in the 1990s. He was from Somalia and claimed his life was in danger after the Somali people toppled the violent regime. The violent regime was gonna kill him? Sounds legit right? Nope.

Turns out, Ilhan Omar’s father was a MEMBER of the violent Siad Barre regime, a Colonel in the military, likely specializing in propaganda.

He feared for his life probably because the people who toppled the regime were holding accountable corrupt govt officials LIKE HIM.

Yet on his asylum application he allegedly did not disclose that he was a Colonel in the violent Marxist Somali regime.

He obtained citizenship based on his fraud, and so did his daughter Ilhan Omar.

It was fake the whole time.

Additionally, Ilhan Omar is credibly accused of committing marriage fraud (marrying her brother) to get him residency in the United States.

This doesn’t even count the weird financial reports Ilhan Omar submitted and then retracted to Congress, disclosing her net worth at $30M and then revising it to $18k and blaming it on an “accounting error.” LOL. The real reason for the absurd financial gymnastics is probably her third husband (she had an affair with him while paying him campaign funds) who’s shady “consulting” specializing in Somalia (he’s white) appears more like pay to play than any legitimate advice.

Ilhan Omar deserves every ounce of justice the U.S. govt can mete out.

She hates America anyway, she says herself she’s Somali first. Well then, send her back.

She should be denaturalized and deported.

For the safety of the crew, they can skip actually landing before she deplanes.

I'm encouraged and pleased something is apparently being done. Will wait and see what comes of it. Hard to think this isn't just more theater for our entertainment. She is either going to be cleared and untouchable going forward or she will get deported. I've said for a long time if they can't get rid of her it's because they don't want to.

At the very least she should be expelled from office for violating her pledge of oath.

Sounds like they are focusing on the idea she lied about her age to become naturalized. The statute of limitations has run out on that but if she continued to use the false birth date on bank or other documents the limitation is reset. Those are the documents they are looking for. Why they didn't raid her home in Minnesota at the same time makes no sense. This is like getting Al Capone on tax evasion after he has been responsible for many murders. If it works great. Seeing her deported is not going to happen. Just get her out of Congress and that's good enough for me.

This alleged evidence has been around for several years. Why not do this 12-18 months ago?

This is the way the ineffective, incompetent GOP operates. The democrats wouldn’t have waited 10 minutes to investigate, with or without evidence.

First thing that came to my mind as well. The cynic in me particularly in these matters is that waiting this close to the mid terms gives them another built in excuse if they lose the majority. Everything will grind to a halt and they can say we tried but the Democrats won't move on it. Goes back to what I have been saying for a long time. If they can't get her out of Congress it's because they don't want to.

If she survives this I can't imagine how emboldened she will become.
