My 2016 F250 Platinum - at the time, the highest end that could be purchased, every option. Even has the extra super special paint. Orange peel everywhere. 2016 Fusion Titanium. Again...highest option you could get for that vehicle. Front never looked right. I took it back to the dealer twice for it. Misaligned body panels. Told me they didn't see it, couldn't fix it...claimed it "came that way" "that's how they come" Yesterday I finally had enough headlights and foglights out that I was forced to replace them. I've been putting it off, because the entire bumper wrap had to be removed. It took about an hour to figure out where all the clips were. Then several hours to get to the last several which required being inside the bumper to remove. Absolute nightmare, and I've worked inside jet engines, crawled in intakes, tails, fuel tanks, etc. Lots of small spaces where you can't see anything. This was right up there with the worst. Found it. When the dealership installed the engine block heater, they never bothered to replace the clips on the side they peeled back. They never bothered to loosen all the bolts and pinch points to realign the bumper, because of those two nightmare bolts. I was able to straighten it out and even out the lines. Its been 10 years. So...yeah, Ford does suck. It's one of those "worse evil" sort of things. Ford was the least evil choice at the time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "The trouble with our Liberal friends...is not that they're ignorant, it's just that they know so much that isn't so." Not unheard of. I worked at two dealerships in my lifetime. Cars would sometimes come right off the transport with damage .

I can only guess how much you paid and it’s gotta be a disappointment. My OCD would never tolerate a “new” vehicle that needs fender and body work. I guess there’s good reason I’ve never owned a Ford.

You paid for new truck dealer should give you your money back or provide a new truck. Be polite but firm in your demand. Document everything with quality photos in case it ends up in the hands of a lawyer. U.S. Army 11F4P Vietnam 69-70 NRA Life Member

I believe the dealership might be playing by the rules, much to the disappointment of the buyer. The owner is righteously POd but the dealer sold him a new vehicle, as far as anyone knows. It wasn't a salvage, or a wreck. The title will show a new car. That's the problem. Unless the vehicle is a salvage or a couple of other things, they are allowed to advertise it as new. The buyer has the right, like with the purchase of most goods, to inspect before taking delivery. If it isn't satisfactory, you reject the item. That's part of the Uniform Commercial Code and governs most all transactions for goods. If you buy a refrigerator, you have the absolute right to inspect it on the delivery truck and if it's dented or damaged, you have the full right to send it back and your money will be refunded. But since the item was accepted, the dealer is under no obligation to take the vehicle back and offer a replacement. Instead, the dealer is allowed to cure the defects and do so through reasonable efforts and more than once. State laws address this but the dealer is given the chance to fix the vehicle. If they can't fix it, subject to state consumer protection laws, Lemon Laws come into play where the manufacturer can be forced repurchase the vehicle. That aside, this is a shitshow of sorts and the dealer needs to see the greater harm that can be suffered if the public gets wind of this. Bad reviews, local TV station reports it, and so on. The dealer should intercede with Ford, and work to either get a replacement or refund the purchase price.

I ordered a brand new 2015 Mustang GT, first year of the S550, later in the initial production run. That car was plagued with body alignment issues. I remember some of the pictures that were posted on the Mustang 6g forum at the time. It was unbelievable that so many badly assembled cars left the plant. I took delivery of my car in May of 2015. My car though not perfect had very minimal alignment issues luckily. I think they just send them out that way and deal with the ones that people bitch about. It's ridiculous, and I hope you get it figured out. Very frustrating I'm sure. "We've done four already, but now we're steady..."

Its mind boggling that in this day and age with computers, robotics, lasers and highly paid workers Ford can't assemble a vehicle properly so that everything is in alignment. Another reason for me to avoid buying a Ford. I guess enough buyers don't complain so Ford has no motivation to fix the QC problem at the factory.

Ford is not the only one. I took delivery of a 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ that had some alignment problems. The dealer's body shop took care of everything. I worked at an automobile manufacturing plant, with the design and installation group that was computerizing some functions of the final assembly line. We had to pay particular attention to the amount of time (the "labor content") that could be allotted at each station on that line. Sometimes it was really marginal. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

If automobile manufacturing is anything like RV manufacturing, it is cheaper for the manufacturer to send a defective product to the dealer for warranty repairs than stop the assembly line, or pull a vehicle off the line or make repairs at the factory. Sucks for the consumer. If you're goin' through hell, keep on going. Don't slow down. If you're scared don't show it. You might get out before the devil even knows you're there. Yep. New and perfect aren't the same thing. Quality control isn't what it used to be. At least it sounds like they will make it right. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Back home with it. I had to stay in a motel last night as the body shop they use could not finish it yesterday. Got it this morning. The body shop guy was good. Told me quite a few things. In a nut shell he made some improvements but the truck body wise is probably a 6-1/2 on the 10 scale to me. Mine is super cab not a crew cab. That was my choice as I need a long bed and the crew cab and long bed combo was just too long. The body guy says the supercabs are mostly work trucks. Does not see very many of them. He says the door issue is because the rear doors are pinned top and bottom only and when you shut the front door it flex's and causes the door to not close as easy and it will be ajar quite a bit. Not sure if there is any kind of a fix for that. The passenger side seems fine. Drivers is better since he adjusted but is still not 100%. The body fit of the front 1/3 of the truck is shitty. My wife's new T4R is perfect. I know it is a big truck but. Talked to the general manager. Nothing really came of it. Not sure if I am going to follow up with him. I really like the truck otherwise. Love the power, the size, the 8' bed. Shifts great. Will haul and tow some real weight and loads. Drives tight and solid. All things I want. As I said in another thread. The salesman and dealership where good in the overall process of trading in my two rigs and made me a really nice deal. Btw, both my rigs sold the first day. Feel like the whole deal is and 8 out of 10. Could of easily been a 9-10 had Ford been more concerned about putting out a polished product. I have not bought many new rigs and was probably spoiled the recent 2024 purchase of my wife's T4R. I assumed a new Ford Superduty purchase was going to be similar in terms of the quality of a new vehicle. I was wrong making that assumption with Ford. I think this rig will be solid, especially with how I spec'd it out. The thing the GM told me is that 90% of the people buying new rigs just drive them away and they never hear back in terms of the things I brought up so there you have it why Ford does not do better. They don't need too. That is sad. The Japanese makers have always done a way better job. I thought the American makers had made significant strides. Guess not. Again I want to thank all of you for the time and your thoughts about my journey on this truck. PHPaul, did you look your truck over well? Any issues on yours? I love my Tundra build quality. I have occasionally fantasized about how it would be to have a 1 ton Tundra dually diesel. I doubt we’ll ever see that though. My 3/4 ton diesel Sierra is powerful, smooth shifting and stable while towing. I like it enough to keep it longer than I originally planned to. However, it needs continual nursing. Fix this, replace that, upgrade these things for reliability. Why is it weeping from that seal again? Creaky interior parts. Crunchy steering bushing. Clicking HVAC actuators. Sundry paint issues. Just a laundry list of stuff that accumulates if not resolved regularly. My Tundra never needs that kind of maintenance. But, you can’t get a 3/4 ton/1 ton Tundra. Yours may have been built on Friday. I’ve had Superdutys in year models 2017, 2021, and now 2024. Not a single problem with body alignment on any of them. Matter of fact, never had to return to the dealership for a single issue. Maybe I’ve been lucky. The 17 and 21 were traded around 100K miles. The 17 was gas, the 21 was diesel for the record. Went back to gas for the 2024. The jury is still out on whether it was the best decision for my needs. Hopefully yours will be mechanically sound for you. Enjoy your new ride!
