Thanks everyone, sounds like YouTubeTV is the winner here.

Even with the $65 that YTTV would cost, the entire bill for the fiber internet and YTTV would be almost HALF of what Comcast is charging me.

I’m going to give it a try, if we don’t like it, Comcast will be kissing my ass within a month or two to come back at the new subscriber rates anyway so this is a win-win.

Another bonus to YT TV- no contract plus free trial period. So after a week or so if it isnt for you, or in a couple of months you change your mind- its easy to just cancel it.

So everyone who recommended YouTube TV: thank you!

Got my new fiber internet service hooked up on Friday and set up YouTube TV and it’s great, the interface is very quick and it’s got all the channels we usually watch and the wifey is going to love the cloud DVR, she DVR’s tons of stuff.

Our bill for the fiber internet and YTTV will be exactly HALF of what Comcast is charging and planning to increase on me yet again in another month or so with their ridiculous promo pricing BS.

Now I just get to go through the fun of cancelling Comcast and dealing with all their games…BUH BYE.

Sooo, why does one 'need' DVR w/ Internet Only Streaming TV? The whole point of 'Streaming TV' is that the content is 'On Demand'.

so we have been with DT for about thirty 30 years. Probably close to the beginning.

Recently told we finally had to upgrade our equip. With no additional charges or fee's.

Finally caved reluctantly.

So now our service is another $30 a a month. So I am seriously planning a cutting of the cord myself.

I know very little about any of this streaming service.

Do I need a new TV? Do I need to upgrade my internet service?

Which service

Apple plus
Fubo
Youtube
Other's?

I want a few specific channels like

Roots sports NW

Can I get a good streaming service and live with just one. How much will it cost. I think our DT bill is under $140

Thanks guys.

Rugged:

First things first, in order to cut the cord you’ll need at a minimum:

1. Some sort of streaming device hooked up to your TV or a smart TV. Could be a Roku or Apple TV device. I love my TCL Roku TV which has the Roku streaming functionality bulit in rather than an add on box.

2. High speed internet service. I’ve been told that 8Mbps is the minimum to stream live TV. I think you need at least 100Mbps or more personally.
