Air filter mask? If the allergy were that serious, the passenger would be endangered by a fellow passenger whose clothes happen to be covered in dog hair. I know my clothes usually are. God Bless and Protect our Beloved President, Donald John Trump.

| That rug really tied the room together. |
So some stupid self important bitch, tells the airline that she has a "life threatening" allergy to animals, and then demands that the animals be removed from the plane? Is that about right? When her "I'm fucking important" temper tantrum didn't pan out in her favor, the airline told her she needed medical clearance to fly, and said important bitch declined to provide said medical clearance and refused to exit the plane when asked, numerous times? ______________________________________________________ Often times a very small man can cast a very large shadow

Actually, SW did not demand proof of her having an allergy. They took her word for it and tossed her off the plane. God Bless and Protect our Beloved President, Donald John Trump.

Well, the important thing is that the person that needs a dog to face the world was able to feel safe during their flight.

I hope next time the professor is booked to sit next to this emotional support dog.

That's the way I see it as well. The whole allergy thing ranks right up there with emotional support animals for me. Both are abused by the snowflake crowd. You wouldn't believe how many kids at my kids' schools have allergies to the strangest things.
And she had funeral to get to! Reminds me of the time I got snowed in at LaGuardia. You wouldn't believe how many important people had funerals, surgeries, relatives on their death beds, etc. there were.

What about people just traveling with pets? I fly with my dog in a carrier, is that ok? Or is it just the emotional support animal people that you have contempt for? Same thing right? Dog on a plane and the lady wants it removed.

I do the same thing, but I've never heard that on a flight and they can lick my nuts if they think I'm not opening mine.

Contempt is your word. I actually feel sorry for someone who needs an animal to function in society. I avoid air travel, so the dog can fly the plane as far as I am concerned.

If someone dies after you have been advised of the risks and proceed regardless, well... IANAL, but I could see a prosecutor bringing rather serious charges against you. God Bless and Protect our Beloved President, Donald John Trump.

I don't, because it's a sham. All of a sudden, people need a puppy in public. It's horse shit. They don't "need" a "support animal". That idiotic phrase should be unknown society at large, and the people who pull this shit are worthy of your contempt, not your pity.

What's also sad is that Southwest will over-compensate her for something they had nothing to do with. In my opinion they don't owe her shit.

Yes, there are a certain number allowed per cabin. We had three cats we left CA with in 2007 and took them with us in the cabins, with fees paid and pet reservations in advance. None of the 'comfort animal' BS - had to stay in their in pet carriers, under the seats. I don't know how airlines are supposed to deal with the intersection of legitimate animal travel with allergies. If I had to guess, if someone with an allergy had been booked before us, we wouldn't have been able to book our pets. And if we'd booked the pets prior, they'd have told the allergic person not to book that flight. That's just a guess.

I've been a top level frequent flyer for most of the last 5 years. Yes, the level where you get the special check-in, shortest lines, private lounges, and all the perks. And the first rule of flying is you never disobey the instructions of a flight crew. The flight crew is sovereign on a plane, especially after the door is closed. Don't like what they say or do? File a complaint after the fact. If they deny you boarding for any reason? Do what they say and file a complaint. I was denied boarding on a connecting flight in Mexico a few weeks ago because even though I had a boarding pass, checked-in and all, they said I had no actual ticket. Some kind of screw up in a hurricane related re-route on a local carrier. I called my airline and let them deal with it, and eventually it got worked out and I got to my destination same day, but a couple hours later. These idiots, including the guy on United a few months ago disobeyed direct instructions of law enforcement. Again, if you disagree, file a complaint afterwards. Don't make an ass of yourself resisting. I am fully with the airlines on this. Even if the flight crew makes a mistake, act like an adult, comply, and then file a complaint afterwards.

| Too clever by half |
I find it unfortunate that Southwest felt the need to apologize to her. In their press release they should have simply explained that their hands were tied by the law, and further delays because of her behavior would have jeopardized the connecting flights and plans of hundreds of other passengers.
|

Yeah. The executives are doing "damage control" just like United, instead of standing up for their employees. The passenger refused to comply and the flight crew called law enforcement. The rest is up to law enforcement and out of the airline's hands. Resist law enforcement commands and you will be "enforced" by any means required.

If she had serious allergies, she would have mermedications with her. An epi-pen is a good indication of a problem. Have read that people with peanut allergies wipe down their seat and the surrounding area. Did she have a brush or wipes? “ The work of destruction is quick, easy and exhilarating; the work of creation is slow, laborious and dull.
