Just a quick fun little project for tonight. I decided I needed an adapter that I can use to attach Dremel bits to my DeWalt cordless drill. I made an extension that accepts a Dremel chuck. It was 0.280" x 40 TPI. Finally used that Kennametal carbide thread cutting attachment. Thanks for looking! Tony. Neat stuff, Tony! Love those tiny threads. I took a class this spring to refresh my lathe skills -- I can get around the mill okay, but 30 years' worth of neglecting my lathe skills really showed. It was fun to get back to it. Politicians seem to have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around. — — — — — — — — — — — — God bless America.

Kennametal is high quality products. I've used them a lot. Even in the age of inserts, I would have to grind both carbide and HSS blanks for machining. Single pointing threads is such fun. Slides which I have machined for Lone Wolf had tiny internal threads for the RMR to mount, those are milled via CNC. Beautifully machined. Benny, if you ever find a shop selling off tooling or auction, keep a eye out for diamond wheel for grinding carbide. They are expensive to buy new.

Sweet, I could see using one with a 1/4" shaft. For use in a M12, 1/4" angle grinder.

Very cool, that's some nice work and thanks for sharing it...I enjoy this stuff. I wish I had a lathe and the skills to use it. I enjoy making stuff, and the freedom and convenience it provides. I just don't have the time, space, or budget to set up a shop or go back to school to learn everything I need to know. My oldest (9th grade) is considering going into machining...maybe someday I'll be able to have him teach me. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

I'm still learning quite a bit. My cuts weren't as nice as I'd wanted them to be, but they worked. I think I went too deep on one cut and it left some rough marks. Smoothed everything out with a file, some sandpaper and a wire brush and it works fine now. I'm going to start practicing on old barrels for barrel threading and offer that as a service. Tony.
