Dave, one of Mrs. Mike’s pearl earrings came free from the backing. It’s just a simple gold cup and hook for the earlobe. Is there any particular glue for attaching it back to the gold cup?

1. Super glue
2. Shoe glue (which I think is really e6000)
3. Gorilla glue
4. Clear DAP Silicone for kitchen and bath
5. Elmer’s glue
6. Don’t be daft-take it to the local jeweler.

Inquiring minds want to know.

I'm no jeweler, but I've glued a few things. I can see a problem with using any glue - anything but the tiniest of drops and the clearest of material may ooze out from under the jewel. Pony up for the jeweler. He could probably fix it in a few minutes for a few bucks, no doubt a lot less than the jewel's original cost.

Yea, that episode pretty much sums up about half of life, especially with jewelry.

Absolutely #6 above. DIY with glue is a recipe for disaster period!

Jewelers glue- aka #6. You don’t want to damage the integrity of the pearl.

Following…

My wife has a Pearl that fell out of a silver Tiffany earring I bought her new from Tiffany many years ago. I took it to Tiffany in Walnut Creek, CA several years ago and they told me to kick rocks. Was rather shocked at that reply from them. Not even well we can ship it to NYC and this is the estimate… just nope not interested
