Wikipedia says the has a marketing degree. Doesn't seem like he learned a damn thing since he just pissed off a large country music fan base.

That, or someone bought him off. Given everything else going on these days, I almost have to wonder.

I don’t listen to Country radio, but I know who he is, in fact, he played Cheyenne Frontier Days just last night and set a new attendance record for a night show.

Church is one of the biggest names in country music and I’m a big fan.

Hearing this is so frustrating. I have stopped giving my dollars to entertainers who want to use “their platform” to tell me how to live my life.

I got rid of the NFL with less pain than I thought. I will miss the Chief though.

Bad thing is, he is almost the opposite. He came along and did his own thing, and called out the recording industry and "establishment" for perceived wrongs, etc. He openly mocks these new country weenies. Up until now he's been one of the few genuine real singers in country, and good material. I've got a couple albums worth of his music I listen to routinely.

He really screwed the pooch on this, and I don't see any upside on this one for him. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

When Eric Church says he blames the NRA, he means he blames you and me.

Eric Church wants to disarm you and me.

Simple.

Yep, pretty much nailed it. He is entitled to his opinion. I don't know who he is, but I'm not a country music guy. My wife, who is a country music fan, didn't recognize the name when asked.

I suspect it is going to stay that way now.

Eric showed a remarkably ignorant grasp of what his fan base believes in, despite all the country songs that pretty clearly outline it.

Oh, and as far as the power that the NRA wields... The politicians are certainly free to decline the contributions and ignore the efforts of a group that represent a huge voting block. Maybe that would make Eric feel better.

We are entitled to our own opinions too Eric. We opine that you are stupid and we don't give money to stupid people.

Put me in the camp of not knowing who this guy is and not really caring what he has to say. But....I am sure the results will be more people joining or extending their NRA membership and more guns being sold. If less of his music is sold, that's on him - he seems another misguided leftist.

I wonder how they will introduce him at Sturgis this year? Socialist and Bernie Sanders supporter Eric Church, or just, Communist Eric Church.

Yup. There are very few good country singers and writers today, and Eric Church is one of them. I'm a pretty big fan myself, and like a previous poster said, this is just so frustrating. Should've kept your yap shut, dummy. At least I know that I'm likely never to hear such nonsense from Chris Stapleton.

My opinion, but his music sounds like the same crap to me. That Springsteen song is a pop song and it contains the formula buzz words required by twang pop songs now:

cut off jeans
flip flops
jeep
stars in the sky
Saturday night.... Roll Eyes

Somehow the words "dirt road" didn't make the song. Maybe it's on the album version.

If his career craters because of this, don't worry. There will be another cookie cutter singer to take his place.
