Sams Club Master Card is issued by Synchrony Bank, not Sams Club, the issue is with the bank. Para's idea is good as long as you don't have recurring charges on the card and makes sense.

You can also get a virtual card number on most CC accounts, for a one time use, after that it's no longer valid.

Reality is your CC numbers are out there on lots of databases, it's not just the Banks data. You want to help further is to use apple pay or google pay for gas pumps and otc purchases vs the actual card, those charges hid the CC from the Merchant and help protect you from having a card skimmed.

No way my ID is going to India.
