https://www.breitbart.com/bord...found-in-west-texas/ The U.S. Department of the Interior announced Thursday the Permian Basin’s Wolfcamp shale and Bone Spring formation spanning parts of West Texas and eastern New Mexico hold the largest potential oil and gas resources ever discovered. Federal surveyors note the Bone Spring plays could offer roughly seven times the amount of oil as the Bakken shale in North Dakota. In a new assessment, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) estimated these untapped regions in the Delaware Basin of the Permian contained 46.3 billion barrels of oil, 281 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, and 20 billion barrels of natural gas liquids, more than two times larger than its 2016 assessment of the Wolfcamp shale play in the Permian’s Midland Basin. Oil in West Texas? Who would have thought!? (I know this wasn't specifically known . . . but come on.) The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

It does make me wonder, in this day and age, there wasn't already some serious clues something was there.

Well shucks. Hopefully that will put another stick in the spokes of Obama’s fuel from algae idea.

It's not my end of the business (Bigboreshooter is likely most knowledgeable on forum in this area), but part of the problem is the USGS put out a shitty press release with shitty graphics. Did I mention shitty? This map will make more sense: The graphic came from this Permian Basin Overview site. Im originally from that area and there has been meaningful exploration, drilling and production for at least the 60 years. I have never heard why they named some of the strata "Delaware" and "Pennsylvania"......

Oh stewardess, I speak jive. |
Yo dawg, we heard you like basins so we put some basins under your basin so you can basin while you basin.

Any second now the environazis will file some sort of law suit. We can't have cheaper oil; whatever will we do with all those electric cars? _____________________________ "A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." Bio-Diesel can be made from Algae and other plant material and from discarded Plastics too. Problem is Oil companies aren't interested in cheaper Diesel fuel and the average motorist doesn't like Diesel power. ********* "Some people are alive today because it's against the law to kill them".

I'm in Midland on Tuesday. The Permian has been booming recently. Try booking a hotel at a reasonable rate. This headline isn't too alarming and should keep people busy for years to come. P229

And why wouldn't most Americans not like diesel power. It couldn't possibly be that the US government has done everything possible to tamp down interest in diesel so it doesn't detract from their pushing of alternative energy boondoggles (i.e. electric toys). The average American motorist hasn't a clue what consumer diesel is and why it would be a good option in many of the vehicles they drive. These 'finds' of more and more oil should really create major problems for the global warming, save the planet crew, and their alternative energy agenda. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. The University of Texas’ coffer just got that much bigger. Funny when I read endowments in US News and World Report they consistently gets the real figure wrong where endowments are concerned.

In Texas? Drilling for oil is what we do, brother. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

My roommate had an 80s era diesel Rabbit. I remember it drive pretty well. Of course VW's more recent diesel shenanigans have pretty much doomed diesel for passenger cars, at least for a while.

To add, for those of you who didn't know UT has 2.1 million acres of land (called a permanent university fund) with mineral rights. All of these PUF lands were endowed well before (final million acres of PUF was 9 years before) oil & gas exploration began in Texas in the 1890s. First royalty was paid to the PUF 95 years ago. Why would they ? You can't produce deisel from trash as cheaply or effectively as pumping it out of the ground. For that matter you can't power Aircraft Carriers and fighter aircraft with solar panels. Both lines of thought are preposterous. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E.
