Yep. Only Indian here was this OK Cherokee, and I'm not offended.

I did let the blacks go after they agreed to the 50 lashings. But that was just my half European side as I'm still evil based on my skin color.

In a word, NO. I take no responsibility for what happened to the Native Americans (were they, really?) many years before I was born. I am also aware that the Indian tribes committed wars and atrocities among themselves long before Europeans came to the New World.

I do not know what the outcome would have been had Europeans never come here, but I suspect it would not have been an idyllic existence. (However, I don't think this continent would have remained unvisited for very long.)

I don't have anyone to demonstrate "decolonization" to, anyway. No family, no coworkers (retired). I suppose maybe my church associates would do for sounding boards. Not going to do it--they don't deserve such treatment.

So NO, I'm not going to participate in that stupid, misguided activity. We can't change the past, and I don't really want to, anyway.

I'm fairly sympathetic to Native American issues, however the ideas these people spit-out ignore their own shortcomings and as stated, the overall complications of the historical tapestry. Everything coming out of such an organization, is framed around some racial/cultural wrong and labeled as an injustice if not genocide.

3 Ways to Decolonize your Thanksgiving

Who's funding these folks, because it's definitely not the native corporations or, tribal trusts.

Soo . . . How long did the so called ' native' population actually own this land of ours before we arrived?

No really, There are at least three migrations of 'siberians' and each of these conquered and destroyed whatever was here.

Who built the Etowah Indian Mounds? What happened to them? Folks dont like to talk about it or just state they became part of the Cherokee.

Yeah, no.

I am not saying we did not commit atrocities. And I will never forgive Andrew Jackson for the trail of tears. But this 'decolonize' BS is ridiculous and based in willful ignorance.

Funny, I had two thanksgivings and the first time I was filled with nothing but a table of natives. Lol
