Just bury the wreck with the body still in it.

I wonder how fast he was going to do that much damage. Tree times the speed limit?

That would seem to be the more economical way to do it.

Thank god it appears no one else was injured.

That's a horrible job for anyone, how can one do that?

No way I'd be involved in that. I'll bet the police, emergency workers, etc have nightmares.

The worst scenes are the ones where the car catches fire after impact.

You laugh, but...

I've cleaned up what's left many of times after the coroner has rolled out. I have heard more than one story in the industry about a truck mount extractor being used for the "soup" in a bathtub after the scene has been released.

A good friend of mine and deceased member here, William the Coroner called me one night. He sounded kind of down.

I asked him what he was doing, and he said "walking along a train track looking for pieces of a suicide who stepped in front of a speeding commuter train. Basically, they just turn to mush."

When I asked how much he expected to recover, he said he'd be happy to find enough to fill a grocery shopping bag.

We talked a bit more and the gist was, after a while, it just wears you down.

Cleaning up after those incidents is not fun for anyone.

I helped clean up after 2 incidents in the army. One, a soldier got run over by a tank. The other after a helicopter crashed and burned while trying to land. 2 crew aboard, neither made it out.
