I just had a wee dram of Talasker tonight and its more than lightly peated. And, this distillery is not on Islay as previously stated by another member. Its on the Isle of Skye. And, I enjoyed this dram very much. Carry on.

Add my vote to this one.

The 14 yr old Oban is very similar in complexity to my taste.

Okay this is what I ended up buying.
The Glenmorangie The Quinta Ruban that goose5 recommended.
It's not quite a 15 year old Scotch however it is Port cask finished. I figured for the price we would try it.
The ABC I went to today did not have many of the recommendation I had originally narrowed it down to.

It has a very nice smooth up front flavor that coats the tongue, then a little burn with a sweet lingering finish.
I like it.
Thanks for all your recommendations.
Cheers

You're certainly welcome. I always have a bottle of that on hand.

Green label is my preferred JW... I was offered a pour of Blue for a celebration drink, told the bartender to get the Green instead. Got a double, and still less than the Blue was going for!

I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

71truck, I did some testing and evaluation for you. Picked up a bottle of single malt at Costco liquors. It was a 20 year-old sherry cask finished, from Speyside. At $67.99, it’s pretty darn good!
