Consider me sexist, but the vast majority of women would not be able to pass the strength requirements for a combat war fighter. Nothing to do with intellectual capacity, only physical strength. Spending reports from 2020 to 2024 showed NASA awarded grants to universities and consulting firms to support 'environmental justice' and initiatives that 'embrace greater diversity and inclusive practices.' LMI consulting received over $2 million in 2023 for NASA to 'embark on a venture to incorporate and deeply engrain diversity, inclusion, equity and accessibility in the culture and business.' Another $3 million went to Booze Allen Hamilton in March to support NASA's 'office of diversity and equal opportunity DEI data analytic specialty,' and $ 7 million was announced last month for six 'minority-serving institutions.' Amid these expenditures, staff have voiced concerns online about budget shortages, citing struggles with 'limited funds' due to 'wasteful spending.' Software engineer Kyle Sorensen told he hopes Musk will 'clean house.' Musk, along with former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, was tapped to lead the Department of Government Efficiency that aims to 'slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures and restructure Federal Agencies.' A former NASA employee told DailyMail.com that NASA's DEI is 'destroying America's ability to compete with China in space because the Biden-Harris administration will only fund programs that feature it.' NASA receives, on average, about 0.4 percent of what the US government spends each year, but is still given a budget of at least $20 billion. The Southeastern Universities Research Association was also given thousands of dollars to make the NASA's heliophysics material 'more relevant and open to the Latinx and Native American communities.' DailyMail.com uncovered more DEI grants worth missions that had not published in the spending report, including the funds given to Booz Allen Hamilton. The Virginia-based company is described as 'a management and technology consulting firm that provides services to the U.S. government, military, and other organizations.' While Booz Allen Hamilton has conducted space exploration research for NASA, it has received or been promised several grants for DEI programs. Reports from USA Spending.gov show a $3.3 million grant proposal issued in March for 'NASA's Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity DEI data analytics and assessment.' Completion of the award is scheduled for August 2025. 'NASA JPL will lay off almost a thousand workers this year to make budget space for a plethora of ridiculous word salad DEI and environmental programs which contribute nothing to actual space exploration,' the former NASA employee said. 'DEI is a full employment program for people with otherwise useless degrees.' An August report found that NASA spent more than $1 billion less on planetary science in the first two years of the decadal period (2023 - 2032). 'If these trends continue, there will be a $5 to 11 billion shortfall in planetary science funding by 2032,' reads the report from the Planetary Society. 'These missing billions will reduce the rate of medium and small planetary missions, severely delay new flagship missions to Uranus and Enceladus, and severely constrain options for implementing Mars Sample Return.' The report suggested NASA is not spending enough on planetary science, yet has gone well above budget during the Biden Administration. Rudy Ridolfi, former Space System Commander in the US military, told DailyMail.com that '[the DEI funding] is a small amount relative to [NASA's]research budget,' but with' the Artemis Program overruns, NASA should be conserving every dollar of their budget.' NASA has been plagued by overrun costs during the Biden Administration, exceeding its roughly $99 billion from taxpayers by about $10 billion. When asked about the $10 billion overrun in costs, John Conafay, former US Air Force and worked at the Office of the CFO NASA, told DailyMail.com: 'It's not good.' 'Artemis was the big program for the cost overruns. The schedule set by the Biden Administration and the concept of the Lunar Gateway were just too much for NASA to accomplish,' Ridolfi said. Conafay explained that the US has been using cost-plus contracts since World War II. Related to Para's post above, back a couple of weeks ago, I posted about the Trump team refusing to sign a "Memorandum of Understanding" document to have the swamp involved in the Trump transition.  The process Rep. Jaime Raskin (who was on the Jan 6th committee and is a certified Trump hater) is referring to above was created by Obama and his General Services Administration in 2010 and used by Trump in 2016 and Biden in 2020. It looks like Trump is avoiding this "continuity transition" protocol like the plague because it involves Obama and his bureaucrats in the transition. One note- the GSA was used by the FBI in assisting in the Mar A Lago raid. Looks like Trump is avoiding the mistakes in the 2016-17 transition process, basically self-financing the current transition and not having deep staters get their hands into the process. Sen. Casey Wants Ballots From Unregistered Voters To Be Counted In Pennsylvania Recount https://thefederalist.com/2024...ennsylvania-recount/ The Pennsylvania Senate race between Democrat incumbent Bob Casey and Republican Dave McCormick is headed for a mandatory recount, and the Casey campaign is challenging several counties that rejected ballots from unregistered voters. The race was already called by the Associated Press in favor of McCormick, and McCormick’s team says the numbers show Casey has no path to victory. The Pennsylvania Department of State announced the recount Wednesday because the results are within a half percent margin, with McCormick ahead by 27,000 votes. A new timeline now takes over before the results can be certified. “Once counties finish counting their ballots, they must begin the recount no later than Wednesday, Nov. 20. They must complete the recount by noon on Nov. 26 and must report results to the Secretary by noon on Nov. 27. Results of the recount will not be published until Nov. 27,” Pennsylvania Secretary of State Al Schmidt said in a statement. Schmidt said Wednesday that county election officials reported 60,366 uncounted provisional ballots and 20,155 uncounted mail-in and absentee ballots. “That 80,521 total includes all ballots for which county boards of elections have not yet made a final resolution regarding their validity or eligibility to be counted.” Schmidt said. The 80,000 remaining votes mentioned by the Department of State in its statement include the 10,000 that were added to the totals Wednesday, Harris said, and tens of thousands of ballots have been adjudicated as invalid by the counties. Mark Harris, lead strategist for the McCormick campaign, said in a Thursday media call that Casey’s campaign has sent letters to some counties challenging their rejection of provisional ballots because the voters were “determined by the Board not to be registered.” “CFS [Casey For Senate] challenges the rejection of provisional ballots based solely on the Board’s staff’s failure to find voters’ names on registered-voter lists,” one of the letters says. “The Casey position is that they are the ones who need to confirm whether a voter is registered or not, not taking the word of the local board of elections and the [Pennsylvania computer voter registration system.]” The McCormick campaign’s attorney James Fitzpatrick said on the call. McCormick’s campaign will go to court to prevent the provisional ballots of unregistered voters from being counted. “There is zero legal precedent to count the votes of unregistered voters in Pennsylvania,” Fitzpatrick said. Pennsylvania law requires that in order to cast a ballot, you must be registered. I *think* security clearances are granted by the Executive Branch, not Legislative Branch. Now, even if the POTUS summarily lowers (or revokes) security clearances (such as occurred right after the Walker Spy Case), clearances are revoked immediately but the legal process is for the clearance holder to be properly / formally notified. Notification can be as simple as "access denied" when trying access the data or space. Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
