Yeah. At least Trump wasn't a lawyer or used car salesman for a day. I was raised to treat all people equally regardless of their profession. Nobody is better than or worse than somebody else simply due to a job that they've chosen.

"It Doesn't Have to be This Way"

I don't know if the GOP/Trump are pushing this message, they damned sure should be. It could be 2024's Make America Great Again. It's the best distillation of where our country is today that I've heard.

Trump’s closing argument: It doesn’t have to be this way

It's apparent just how very badly Donald Trump has gotten under the skin of the leftists with this stunt.

They're out there on Twitter announcing that Trump didn't really work there since he didn't submit a W-2 (no, really, they actually said this), and that the store was closed and therefore Trump didn't really serve anyone, as if the Secret Service would allow anyone to roll up to the drive-thru window without running a background check and searching their car for weapons.

Piers Morgan called this the greatest political stunt in history, which is overstating it a bit, I think, but you can see how much press this stunt has generated. I think perhaps that even the Trump campaign is surprised about how successful this was.

The libtards at work today were beside themselves and not just a little bit either. A few ass clown comments I heard in the break room:

"He made a mockery of the US election"
"He has demeaned all R candidates in all states"
"What was he thinking"

I joined the conversation for a brief time.

Me: What Kamala was doing yesterday?
Ass clowns: We don't know but it had to have been better than that stunt.
Me: If you have no clue, Trump kicked her ass.
Ass clowns: We don't need to hear your shit.
Me: Bye, have a great day Big Grin

What a great news day today was.

Some time ago, Jordan Peterson said that this country was more divided in the late 1960s than it is now.

While I agree with much of what Peterson says, he is wrong on this. Despite all of its many problems, the United States was not at that time infected with the virulent social contagion of wokeism and all that it entails.

No, professor Peterson, the United States has not been this divided since the leadup to the Civil War.

There is literally no common ground between the opposing sides, and that is due to the complete insanity and absolute unwillingness of the left to compromise in any way or to any degree, on any subject.

Witness the following:

In the most prosperous country in all of human history, working people are having trouble feeding their families, and there is no compassion from leftists for their plight.

Yes, but think about it. He's gone full Marie Antoinette, publicly declaring "Let them eat cake."

One cannot reason with such people. To scoff at the needs of people for the basics of civilization- food and shelter- and all to make asinine proclamations that the Constitution is in danger, is absolute madness.

They are, at this point, no better than rabid dogs.

I agree 100 percent. They only care about holding on to power by any means. They know Trump is loaded for bear and is going to drain the swamp. And based on what Elon Musk has said, they’re all afraid that the Epstein list is going to be released and that would mean Trump will sick the DOJ on them.

Even Wall Street knows Trump is headed to victory as long as we get out the vote.

As someone who has some clear recollections of the era for a variety of reasons, I agree with you, and it’s something I have often thought about due to discussions with a leftist friend.

Until the Army was told to stop “spying” on civilians in 1971, we counterintelligence agents had a lot of interest in what the various “opposition” movements were doing at the time. One time (unofficially, on my own) I mingled with an antiwar demonstration crowd in metro Washington, DC, and later I was on the roof of the Pentagon during another major demonstration. I can’t claim that I knew everything about the events and attitudes of the times, but I knew a lot.

One major difference between then and now was then there were few if any top level politicians spewing the divisiveness that is common today. The divisiveness that there was centered mostly around support for or opposition to the Vietnam war, and there was little “You’re the devil” because someone held an opposing view. The racial tensions after MLK was murdered were somewhat of an exception and did manifest some forms of that, but nothing like today. Yes, there were specific groups and incidents that were more violent, but they were tightly focused and IMO rose from the bottom up, and not from the top down because of what national figures were calling for and otherwise supporting.

Things are simply different—and worse—now.

Peterson only needs to look at the weaponization of justice from the leftists against their political opponents to know that the 60s got nothing on the present day.

“…Labeling a highly-educated, successful Black woman as a “tramp” is reprehensible…”

So…

Isn’t lying and telling people if Trump wins he will put black and brown people in camps a “vile message”?

Calling DJT a “rapist” having never been criminally charged, let alone convicted, of any sexual assault strikes me as a “vulgar remark”

Repeatedly calling President Trump “Hitler” and a “facist” isn’t an “offensive slur”?

I’ve yet to see anyone who supports the Hairy-Ballz ticket do so in a ”respectful fashion” toward DJT

Labeling a successful business man and former President a ”would be dictator” seems a touch ”reprehensible” to me.

Trying to convince the X-X hive mind to vote solely on shared gender sounds awfully Misandristic.
(And I thought gender was simply a “construct” these days anyway? Roll Eyes )

Shit rolls both ways, can’t play the victim when you started the fight.
