A subscription to the jelly of the month club; as Cousin Eddie says “it’s the gift that keeps giving all year long.”

A trip a month in Europe, or someplace she drops hints at, if she’s not the jewelry type, instinctively you’ll know.

If you want your marriage to last longer than 20 years, the secret is always be taking your wife to different places.

Like for our 30th anniversary which was eight months ago, I took my wife to Cancun. Next month, I'm going back to pick her up and take her someplace else.

ETA: Crap, I see roarindan already beat me to it. But I still like my delivery so I'm leaving this post.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

My wife & I have been married for "more than 20 years." usually sometime in July, one of us will say,
"Hey! Our anniversary was last month wasn't it?" "Yeah, that's right!"
"Wanna go out to eat, and celebrate?"
"Nah."
"OK."

I took my first wife to Australia for our 20th. Went back and got her for our 25th.

The latter! I snickered at this exchange.

Congratulations on your milestone! I vote for a trip to a place you've never been. Memories are great to make.

I'm married and I resent that anniversary gifts go one way. At least mine does.

Best gift advice that I received was to buy her a Louis Vuitton purse. I had to go on a recon mission in her closet to see what size and style she preferred, then make my selection. The gift was a home run. Something she'd never splurge on for herself.

Just got this back from David at Mimi’s Jewelry

The center diamond is her engagement ring, David added another ring with two side diamonds to accentuate the original stone. Her grandmother had the same thing done years ago and Mrs. Mike wanted the two rings thing…I don’t know what it’s called, but anyway FedEX just dropped it off.

And since David soldered the two rings together she’s gonna get her gift early.

Our best anniversaries have been trips, whether short-range for a weekend or out-of-state for a week.

We rented a cabin in Vermont for our 20th. It’s a September anniversary so the leaves were peaking. The Mrs. enjoyed that.
