Let's assume you want to build a fairly extensive medical kit, including medicines, for your immediate household (2 adults and a couple younglings)... Let's also assume you are able to work with your family doctor on prescriptions, within reason, so most medications are on the table, but may take time to build them up. Set aside chronic conditions that you take maintenance meds for... those are given for the individual... What would you like and in what reasonable amounts? I started with a Jase Case early in 2023 and have built it a little here and there, and I'm just trying to see what others think and perhaps identify some holes that might be filled. The list I'm pondering is below... Antimicrobial: - amoxycillin clavulanate (rx) - doxycycline (rx) - azithromycin (rx) - ciprofloxacin (rx) - metronidazole (rx) - mupirocin topical (rx) - ivermectin (rx) - bacitracin - clotrimazole topical Pain/Anti-inflammatory: - Ibuprofen - Acetaminophen - ketorolac (rx) Others: - epinephrine (rx) (severe allergic reaction) - lidocaine (rx) - ondansetron (rx) (antiemetic) - prochlorperazine (rx) (antiemetic) - loperamide HCL (anti-diarrhea) - diphenhydramine topical - diphenhydramine oral (anti-histamine) - famotidine (anti-histamine) - pseudoephedrine-levocetirizine We very seldom use medicines in our household... pretty much a last resort... about the only thing that gets used on a semi-regular basis is the advil... but it seems wise to have some stuff on hand in case a time comes when you NEED it but can't get it.

This. I know it is primarily used for heartburn but a doctor buddy educated me a while back when one of my youngsters had a bad case of hives due to an unknown allergy. He advised us to get her benedryl and pepcid and that it would probably be more effective than just the benadryl. I'll keep it on hand for that much more so than the heartburn, for which we would not use it.

I would definitely want nitroglycerin on the list Some albuterol also. You can likely pare down the antibiotics as there is a lot of overlap in the anti microbial coverage with what you listed. Having the knowledge to know when and how to use these is equally important a# having them on hand of course. I am not saying this is you, but tons of people overuse antibiotics or don’t take them properly. Additions I keep on hand are some injectables: steroid Benadryl Lidocaine or other topical anesthetic Couple bags of IV saline with all the IV start stuff.

Good additions... lidocaine is on the list and IV stuff is on my radar but will be addressed later, when the skills are obtained. Regarding the anti-biotics, that list is what the Jase Case included so that's what I got. I guess more is better than less... regarding the antibiotics I think one of the most likely uses in the spirit of the kit is wound site infection.

Advair, Albuterol, Lisinopril, Benadryl, Aspirin, Naproxen, antacids. Those are in my "emergency" kit as I write this. Advair (asthma preventative) has been hard to find for the last 3 months in my area.

While most expiration dates relate to potency diminishing (or are almost meaningless), doxy can become toxic after enough time. ___________________________________________ "Why is it every time I need to get somewhere, we get waylaid by jackassery?" -Dr. Thaddeus Venture
