I feel the need for some sort of medical information card or paper or something for Bonnie to wear on her person ,when I am not with her. She's diabetic, with a pacemaker and on 13 different meds. It should also include her five doctors names and contact info. Emergency names and numbers. Heck Maybe even insurance info. Maybe one of those digitized square code things . With all the baby boomers around , I can't be the only one needing something like this Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. Bendable, The internet has many emergency information tags (dog tags) and bracelet options. I don’t know if there are electronic options. I’m sure there are but those options would need to be compatible with emergency service personnel so most likely they are a gimmick. Dog tags or bracelets would be your best option in my estimate. On an iphone there is an emergency function. Press the power button 5 times rapidly. It notifies emergency contacts and calls 911 iirc, but it will also display medical information that the owner has previously entered. I have heard that emergency responders will try to activate the emergency mode to view medical information. Perhaps some forum members here have authoritative knowledge on whether first responders do this.

Check with your local hospital. Assuming an ambulance is called they may be able to get this information on the way to the ER from her medical chart at the hospital. Sometimes it is only the vitals that get transmitted.

Maybe one of those bracelet things for allergies and such but instead of health info, indicate to the first responder to check wallet for ID / health info. Then in the wallet next to the driver's license or ID, have a (laminated?) laser printed note with the desired info: 1. Name 2. Conditions 3. Meds 4. Docs 5. As a paramedic I can tell you: We never look at peoples phones, Bracelets dont get noticed, Eventually if its bad enough were going to do an EKG, which means your chest will be exposed. Best bet is a necklace. Relevent medical history (diabetic, seizures, stroke, alzheimers, cardiac conditions etc),and allergies is what we need to know. Medication list not so much unless its a blood thinner. "I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I wear a bright red GI-style dog tag with: My name My primary ICE contact number I have drug allegies I’m on meds See the card in my wallet The wallet card lists the allergies and meds and says how to get into my ICE folder on my phone, where I keep an up-to-date medical history, along with my medical POA. Several years ago I uploaded my medical history to a ".pdf" file in cloud storage. I then created a QR code that linked to tat file and taped it to the back of a dog tag that I wear daily. I can update the file as things change and it provided ready access to health professionals when necessary. That was then... I just looked and there are now companies that do the same thing at a reasonable price and with a more polished look. Here's a link to one example... https://www.americanmedical-id.../qr-medical-ids.html "Cedat Fortuna Peritis"

Is there a local chain store (HD, Lowes, Ace, ??) that will engrave a dog tag? Or perhaps jewelry stores will do so? Where to buy blank dog tags for this use? Amazon? Any local chains or type of store? Would like to keep private since medical data (ie - no online purchase, especially engraving). "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it." Yeah pretty much this. Just keeping up with ONE brand of phone like the 3 or so different iPhones I’ve had, means between a couple of different generations and their sub-types, (standard/pro) are various operating modes. Add a Vivo, Samsung, Motorola, ad infinitum - it’s impossible to know. Nobody is going to even try to know that. And if you’re unconscious, we’re kinda busy. If you keep a medication list somewhere, MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE IT’S KEPT UP TO DATE. Hardly anyone does. -------- After the game, the King and the pawn go into the same box.

When I recently traveled to Japan in the fall, my wife and I each carried a laminated card with personal info, including our name, passport #, email address, emergency contact numbers, embassy phone numbers, VISA and ATM phone numbers, and also health insurance info, personal doctor ph#,etc. We also had cards on the desk in our hotel rooms, and a card in our luggage. We printed these out on my computer and had them laminated at the UPS Store. I checked on medical dog tags at a local jewelry store: regular sized dog tag, polished SS, is about $80 with another $40 for laser etch engraving. About $120 total. Seems expensive... Look into a File of Life. Some fire departments give them out. They're not really meant to be portable, but, They're a quick reference for us to find out almost all of the info that you just mentioned. They come in a magnetic red holder that goes on your fridge. This doesn't help if you're out and about, but it's huge if we go to your home for a medical. If your local fire department doesn't have any let me know. Assuming we still have some in stock I'll ship you a couple of them. Here is what they look like. The little card pulls out and holds a lot more info.

It wouldn’t hurt to also put it in her phone, I do make a point to check, and I had the state add it to our lesson plan a few years ago state-wide. Wouldn’t hurt to have a redundancy. Type up a Document that can be edited as needed. Print the document. Take a photo of the document with her phone. Make the document the opening screen on her phone, the one that lights up before you enter any codes so that's not needed. Update as needed. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.
