There's never a good time to lose someone you care about; bittersweet time for his daughter.

Sorry for your loss.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I lost my best friend last year to colon cancer.
It was a brutal downhill slide.

When he went we too, were relieved from all the pain he was in.
Peace to him and you, brothers.

In each other, we find solace.

Prayers go out to you and the rest of the family. Such horrible timing, I hope your niece is able to compartmentalize it long enough to enjoy her day. She will have plenty of time to grieve, shouldn't be a cloud over her wedding day.

Regardless of cost, she would be smart to postpone to another day.

If she doesn't, every anniversary, she's going to think about her father and inevitably tie the two together forever.

Not a good thing.

My sincere condolences. Losing a sibling is never easy. My baby sister (age 45) died from cancer in 2000. The family took it pretty hard.

Prayers for you and your niece.

Very sorry for your loss.

I lost my brother in January. No one else shares your childhood like a close sibling, and it's terrible when they are gone.

I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

Prayers for the bride and family. May God bring special strength and healing at the wedding with everyone there to share their pain. My wife lost her father months before our wedding, and it was hard to watch her walk down the aisle with her father’s brother. She bore up under the stress, somehow.
