Should I paint my new motorcycle fairing? Login/Join

I added a Memphis Shades bullet fairing to my motorcycle. I'm kind of torn whether or not to:
  • paint it silver to match the fenders, gas tank, and trim
  • leave it black (less work and the motorcycle has other black out trim).

Front View (only have pic w/ fairing):

    Side View w/o Fairing:

    Side View w/ Fairing:

    Question:
Should I paint the fairing silver to match?

    Choices:
    Strong Preference - paint silver
    Mild Preference - paint silver
    I'm torn too (no preference)
    Mild Preference - leave black
    Strong Preference -leave black

Painted silver it will not look like an add-on. Not much effort to do it either. That being said it doesn't look bad at all with all the black on your bike.

If I did, I'd have it done professionally done and perfectly paint matched, but yes I would paint it.

I would paint it. But it would be matte black.

matching the engine and frame, a very stylish idea. the only concern is how the wind screen would still be shiny.

    Spray on Plasti-Dip Matte Black.

Peel off when it gets dinged up with bugs and rocks, and spray it again for a fresh look.

Looks good in black to me.
Would only paint silver if you could match the OE silver.

Thinking the black would do better with the smoked windscreen.

    Nice bike either way.

Paint the windscreen the same flat black. You don't need to see through it, do you? You aren't going to duck that low. Big Grin

I think it looks good as-is...but your poll doesn't have the option I'd really pick. I'd go hunting for a small silver vinyl decal to add an accent.

I'd probably make the black matte as well, just use a matte clear spray paint.

I vote paint it to match.

I think that it looks awkward with that big black blob between the fender and the gas tank. Painting it would balance out the colors better.

I think the Black looks like it belongs. Some pin stripe or something on the tank and fenders would add some personal statement, allowing the fairing to blend in, all natural looking and such.
