To counter this bullshit I’d like to see someone revisit and complete “Gray State” and really piss off the globalists and their leftist minions.

I really don't gather much about the plot from that trailer. I'll concede its likely propaganda from the left. When leftist infest a nation, it almost always ultimately leads to violence...they aren't the type of folks you can share a country with.

Nor are most of the folks here. But, people like my sister? Definitely. She is an avid tv and movie watcher. I could easily imagine her being swayed by a movie like this.

Case in point: If you would have asked her about Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Sept 17, 2020, I doubt she could have told you who she was.

But, after 2 days of hagiographic tv coverage after RBG died, my sister posted this on FaceBook. Roll Eyes

We are "focusing" our "energy" elsewhere, we're not involving ourselves into watching this bullshit.

It is not just a "movie", it is propaganda.

It is truly frustrating that people brush this shit off, watch it to see what the big deal is all about, and saying those of us who protest too much have "gone too far". Roll Eyes

These are the same arguments saying the Bud Light shit was no big deal, etc. Boiling Frogs and all.

What was unclear in my statement? Yes: Y-E-S. It's not a matter of whether or not they have a "right" to make it; that's entirely beside the point.

Because they are trying to influence the election, and you and others are giving them a pass, and that eases the path of these assholes.

If they are that easily influenced by a work of fiction then what would you have me do? If the past 3.5 years and our current state of economy and affairs fall prey to a singular movie, what would you have me do so as not to be considered part of the problem?

Ridiculous assertion.
No, actually it's right on the money. Complacency is a substantial portion of the problem, and when they puke out propaganda like this, and you excuse it, you are part of the problem. That's the truth, whether or not you like it, or even realize it.

Any more questions? Do you want to ask me again what I might expect you to do?

Para,

I'm not gonna argue, I'm not gonna respond to every call to arms on a whim.

If you don't like me for thinking for myself, or for being "obtuse" or however you want to describe it so be it. But rest assured I'll continue to do things my own way.

Respect it or not, I'll sleep okay.

I find it insulting you insinuating I am part of the problem. Keep reducing the soup and it becomes too salty for anyone's taste.

No one is stopping you from thinking for yourself. You're doing precisely that.

You can be insulted or not that I say your attitude is part of the problem. I didn't say you are a large part of the problem. Now that would be an exaggeration, but a fraction is not nothing.

It's funny- you're reacting to what I am saying and you are standing your ground, but apparently, I am not granted the same privilege, huh?

I appreciate that distinction, I truly do. But what will I do in this case. If someone will genuinely let this movie sway them when recent history will not. What will I do to convince them otherwise? This would be a gross mismanagement of my time and efforts. Lost cause in my case. And we should not be focused on such high-hanging fruit.

That's fine, Otto, just fine. You worry about what you want, and I'll do the same, and I'll have my opinions, and you'll have yours.

And here we are now, full circle, because as far as I'm concerned, when you give a pass to the publication of such blatant propaganda, you are part of the problem.

I'll say it a thousand times if you like.

People keep focusing on this, and you guys are missing the point. It's fiction, and to be able to say "but it's just a movie," they have to make just a few things unbelievable, like Arizona and New York being on the same side of any given issue (which is never happening), in order to have people say "oh yeah, this isn't reality, this is fiction" so they'll actually sit through it. If they don't make include just enough stuff that's never going to happen, it crosses from the realm of allegory into overt political commentary. It's like Don't Look Up - they have to make the movie about a comet because that can be funny and tragic in the way people who are on the fence about climate change won't be immediately turned off to. The people who they want to watch this civil war film need to be willing to suspend their disbelief in order to be reached, and they can't do that in a film unless it's obvious that the exact premise is fictional in nature.

This shit isn't meant to be a documentary, it's allegory.

And yes, the timing is just such that it'll be on all the streaming services by late summer and into the entire fall leading up to the election.

Lots of voters cannot distinguish between entertainment shows and reality. Especially if they have prejudices without factual support before seeing the show. It becomes a self reinforcing positive feedback loop in 5heir brains.
