Arpaio was convicted of criminal contempt for refusing to follow a judge's order and stop his immigration patrols. He was supposed to be sentenced in October, and had faced up to six months in jail.

So, if I understand correctly, the sheriff was convicted by an asshole judge for actually daring to do his damned job. Simply because said judge thought illegal migrants to this country are/were a protected class.

Do I have that right?

While Sheriff Joe was looking at 6 months for a misdemeanor, down south a little in Pima county the second sheriff in command was facing a little more time than that.

7 FELONYS for EMBEZZLEMENT and MONEY LAUNDERING of almost HALF A MILLION DOLLARS

but he got his own little pardon, but not from the President, from our corrupt liberal judges down here.

FUCKING PROBATION........and retains his pension

FUCK THE LIBERALS!!!!!!

Personally I believe people in positions of "Public Service" should be held to a higher standard. Especially the police and judges etc.

That is unbelievable!

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Trump should have thrown in that the judge who convicted him is now going to jail.

Senator Flake (R from AZ) is proving to be a real pain in the ass.

“Regarding the Arpaio pardon, I would have preferred that the President honor the judicial process and let it take its course,” Flake wrote on Twitter.

Arpaio was railroaded by the obama administration and their flying monkey liberal judges

The opinion of the forum seems unanimous. But I have a sincere question.

As I understand it, he was having his officers pull people over with no probable cause other than they looked like they weren't from around here.

What am I missing?

ah yes, John McCain.

Arizona Sen. John McCain said Trump's pardon of Arpaio undermined the president's "claim for respect of rule of law."

what was Arpaio charged with?

http://www.azcentral.com/story...l-contempt/92472998/

His deputies continued to arrest and deliver undocumented immigrants to federal authorities when there were no state charges against them, long after Snow banned the practice.

*****************

Arpaio was helping to enforce federal law when the obama administration was intentionally ignoring federal law and openly encouraging illegal aliens

Now that he's been pardoned, make him the head of DHS.

And I second the comment that Presidential Pardons are the rule of law.

Eff Flake and McCain. I hope Trump campaigns HARD against Flake.

Come on, guys. Arpaio was blatantly profiling. He was looking for Mexicans in this country illegally and he was only stopping Mexicans. To comply with the law, he was supposed to detain an equal number of orientals and Irishmen. No wonder the media is upset.

Apparently Sheriff Joe is planning to reveal a lot of information concerning his "conviction" in the next few days. Hopefully, Fox News will report it. I believe that this information will be very interesting, and perhaps some heads will roll. Sheriff Joe is a free man(as he should be) now, plus he is 85 y/o, and wants to tell all, exactly what transpired. I can't wait to read this information.

Getting older is amazingly freeing, isn't it? On many issues about which I'd once have been more circumspect out of both consideration for the feelings of others and/or the consequences to myself, I just plain no longer give a flying fuck what somebody else thinks. What're they going to do? Dent my dogtag and send me to Afghanistan?

God bless Arpaio! I hope he shines the light of day into every single dark, commie-infested corner of Arizona politics. And I hope that light fries all those GDC vampires!

Thanks,

Sap

Why tell Fox News?

Write a book, sell it, take the old lady off for a well deserved luxury vacation!

The Clintons got $20 million in advances for books that didn't reveal squat.

When a GDC judge is actually contemptible, they shouldn't be able to bring that charge.

Thank you for your service Sherriff Joe.
