Yep. And people want the solving of the problem of illegal voting to be easy, painless, no effort, handed to them on a platter. The ease of voting is what got us in this fucking mess- no I.D. needed, mail in ballots, early voting, extended voting, ballot harvesting, drop boxes, etc. Vote from the comfort of your home "I’m not going to read Time Magazine, I’m not going to read Newsweek, I’m not going to read any of these magazines; I mean, because they have too much to lose by printing the truth"- Bob Dylan, 1965

I'll go through the extra hassle. I'm all set with a current passport and passport card. Tony. Owner, TonyBen, LLC, Type-07 FFL www.tonybenm14.com (Site under construction). e-mail: tonyben@tonybenm14.com

Hell yea I'll go through the process to prove my citizenship. As previous posters have already said, the reason things went bad is it's never been done. No time like the present to take care of this business ASAP right now. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Coyote School of DIY Disaster

What would you do to prevent your vote from being fraudulently cancelled out? I'd go through the hoops of showing documents to re-register and then voting in person on a paper ballot.

I'm sorry but I do not understand concept of fixing / breaking something / a voter registration system that work FINE! I've not read or seen any documented proof of anything other than minuscule percentages of illegal or wrongful voting practices, that would not have changed the out come of any recent federal elections. But being an ignorant ,lazy worthless, cheating cockroach that some here see me as because I do not agree with their opinion ? I guess we will have to wait and see if the Senate actually gets this rammed through. If so, we will have to deal with it accordingly, whether we approve or not? .

Jgerge, lay off the caffeine. Nobody called you a lying cockroach. It’s a discussion. Not everybody agrees with you. The question it seems is how much voter fraud will we tolerate? Personally I’m in the as small as possible crowd. I also have all my paperwork and a passport. If you access to neither it will be harder. Unsolicited advice? Start working on finding your paperwork. That goes for everyone.

Since I have a star on my drivers license would that be considered proof enough or would I need to prove my citizenship? I saw it is not required for voting but would it be sufficient if rules change? I know that doesn't cover everyone but just curious if I need to dig out my birth certificate again. Yep just a few tick-tocks out of a day to insure voter roles are clean, illegals are not voting, nor non citizens. If you don't have certain documents in your possession that may be needed, birth cert, naturalization papers, DL, Passport, then perhaps get started on them right now.

Perhaps you should heed your own thoughtful advice pedropcola ?

Jgerge. You claim that somebody called you an uneducated lazy cockroach. Nobody said that. Nobody said anything close to that. Being old doesn’t give you the right to make shit up and then be incensed by your made up claim. I suggested 2 things. Lay off the caffeine and get your paper work together. Do both, do neither, but fucking relax either way.

Heed your own fucking shit Pedropcola! Get off my ass! I did not say that Pedro! Go back and read and comprehend all the posts in the thread, and try to tell me such things were not mentioned!

Out of respect to the OP, and the SIGforum, and the fact that I am not adding anything constructive to this post any longer, I am tapping out.

See 6guns' post immediately below yours.
I challenge you to point out specifically in this thread the who, and the where, those things were said about YOU. You told pedro to go back and read, but it's you who needs to go back and read and understand the nonexistent claims you made. I'm the one who made the cockroach reference, but go ahead and try to prove that I was seeing you as. I'll wait. Man, so goddamn pathetic. Q

I don’t know what to tell you. That is your exact quote so yea screw you. It’s exactly what you said. Nobody called you any of those things you crazy fuck. How about instead of arguing with me you edit your stupid post and remove that inflammatory made up shit that only occurred in your head. Or up your meds. Whatever works. And I agree you should tap out. That’s exactly what you do when you get pinned.

If your country asks you to re-register because we know our voting system is broken, I feel it is your duty to do just that, re-register. If you don't want to do that, then don't vote, no harm no foul. Sure, I have all my paperwork and it's easy for me. Those who don't have your paperwork, well that is the mess we are trying to clean up. Those without proper paperwork voting. That has to end. I voted for it and I'm glad for it. I don't think anyone here is looking to deny lawful voters from voting. Yes, some folks will screw it up and some will get jerked around, but that is the cost of participating in shaping the policy and path of the most powerful country on earth. Is it really going to be harder than filling out your taxes every year, pretty sure we are still going to require that. __________________________

If this bill passes or not, this should be the catalyst for all US citizens to get their paperwork together. Like it or not, better to be ready and not need it then vice versa.

For real?![]() |
yes, get paperwork together before you need it. My son was supposed to PCS late last year overseas but his passport expired. Oops. Not minority enough!

It's my opinion that this cannot be overstated. Politicians seem to have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around. — — — — — — — — — — — — God bless America.

Piggybacking on this to a slight topic swerve. Be sure any relatives who are not themselves capable (mental acuity, etc) have up to date and valid documents. Birth certificate, state ID if they don't have a drivers license, marriage or divorce papers if their name changed, and possibly a passport card. Everything everywhere has gotten so strict with legalities that simple things like banking or traveling require such proof. Even if they're in a care facility, get the documents. Make sure a responsible person has them secured. As to voting security, if they are in a care facility or have in-home caretakers, be extra alert for mail-in ballots. Lots of fraud happens with those. If your relative is declared incompetent you might be able to have the county clerk make sure they are removed from registration.
