I've had quite a few through the years, including some nice vintage Hawaiians, and how I wear them depends upon how they are cut and how they fit me. If they are short in length, and reach just a little below the beltline, untucked. But if they are longer, I tuck them in. It just looks better on me. Along with my black knee socks and white patent leathers, of course Wink

Please, for all that is sacred, do not post a picture, I'm short on eye bleach and some things need to stay unseen. Eek

Jim

Best comment in this whole thread. I spit cookies all over my iPad.

Untucked, with jeans and cowboy boots. Usually it’s what I wear to church. Conceals a pistol nicely.

Ya outed me! Big Grin Me and the Jamaican gangs, with their knee socks and tucked Hawaiian shirts. But the socks are in soccer club colors. Leftovers of French and British colonial turf wars.

Actually, I was among the *Worn outside the trousers* voting block. But the only one to textually assert a right to tuck one's Hawaiian shirt.

If the pattern is mild and small, and the shirt fits as tailored for effect, and you're in good shape, why not? I know a woman of very smooth elbows who would be thrilled to latch onto my arm all night as we stroll a garden party, thus neatly attired.

Ya want to take this up a few notches past 'beans in chili"? We'd have to ask the folks over on StyleForum. They are the ones who have their valet break in their leather loafers. Know the etiquette of belt buckle metals. Heck, they even have a particular sport coat only appropriate to wear the last ten days of spring but never after the summer solstice. Wink

I only have one Hilo Hattie shirt. Bright red with white hibiscus: all of us in the Hawaii delegation to the 2016 GOP convention wore the same. The TV cameras loved us; I think I lost some friends who didn’t know where I stood before that. Where I stood was with a big MAGA placard, yelling “Lock her up!”

Don’t own one, but I do have a couple of Guayaberas. I can’t imagine a circumstance where one would be tucked in
