I've had white peach trees all my life and we simply used something homemade that resembles a gaff hook. Hook it around the stem and give it a tug. I know it's not ideal.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. Looks like one of those tools several people linked to are the ticket. I do agree that pruning the tree is the way to go too. It's limbs are still pretty thin. I'll trim the top a bit and open it up. Thanks.
